    2K Eldar mech or infantry?

    Ok gang I need a little help. I am going to be playing in a tournament in April and I have been doing an escalation league with my mech list and it has not been doing well at all. So far I have done just ok against space marines and IG but grey knights, tyranids, and dark eldar have been whooping up on me. So I have been looking at what is a good eldar list at all with what I have. So I have two lists now and I was wondering what people think is the better of the two lists.

    I dont find Dark Reapers to be particularly successful most of the time. Same with the guardians, I just don't see them as being useful. At least from what I have seen and tested personally. They are super weak and flimsy. The weapon platform can be useful but they are free kill points and easy to take out if sitting on an objective. Lastly the single Vyper is iffy, mainly because it is an easy kill point because it is only 10 armor and you only have one of them. I see your first list being much for effective overall. I might be biased because I, personally, think mech-dar are MUCH more effective than a campy Eldar with point heavy, generally ineffective units *cough* dark reapers *cough* XD! But it is all in personal opinion and how you are able to use them :o. Best of luck to you !

    O side note, for your first list, Howling Banshees work much better in their max size of 10 so if you can move some points around try and bump that unit up to 9 + exarch.

    i like the first list a lot it looks very much like the one i use, however i would change the shurken cannons to scatter lasers for the longer range and extra shot(espessially vs those pesky dark eldar and their night sheilds ) i would also switch the storm gaurdians to more DA's. in addition to this although yriel is very good i just dont see his place in such a list with so little CC you should be using the banshees for counter attack purposes so maybe you can drop yriel and the farseer for eldrad. this would give u 93 points to upgrade that SG squad to DA's and put scatter lasers on those serpents. plus eldrads redeployment is fantastic! you can never go wrong with him in a tourney

    star cannons are not really competitive i would replace those with scatters, with regards to the fire dragons i would just leave them be as naked 5 man squads the exarch powers are just needless most of the time. use those points to max out your DA squads. on the banshees i would switch the exarch for one more banshee making it 8, i have found this to be an effective amount. if you want to take yreil i guess thats fine, but i would recommend switching the falcon out for a night spinner, or another waveserpent and max out that DA squad of 5. you simply do not have enough troops in this list i would work on having at least 3 full squads of DA's.

    -Take the Exarchs out of the Fire Dragon squads, it's just un-needed points spent, mainly because Exarchs in that unit dont do much and they usually just suicide rush a tank then die.
    -I disagree with Nigel on the Exarch for Banshees but change her power to Acrobatic IMHO. With Initiative 10 first round of combat you wont be having to worry about weapon skill because that is when rerolling to hit comes in to play, you couple that with Doom and you have a fist full of rerollable death, not to mention some of those will ignore armor saves.
    -Star Cannon isn't that great, I suggest EML or Scatter Lasers, and I also find that Wave Serpents are better because of Energy Fields. I just find that they work out better than holo stones and have comparable fire power to a falcon, and that frees up a heavy slot if needed, points, and they can also carry more.
    -Freeing up the points that I have pointed out (redundancy ftw?) you can max out your squad of 5 if you choose, or beef up your banshees to 9 + Exarch which is just a powerhouse of pure death when you stick Yriel with them.

    This is a good HQ choice I like them both. This will work well but instead of doom I would take Fortune the reroll to shoot can be invaluable.

    The Shruiken cannons are not worth the price. It's twin linked so make it count. I would suggest AT LEAST Scatter lasers if not Star cannons. I would also up the unit to 6 that way you get an average of 4 hits then 2 pens instead of 3 hits 1 pen.

    Love these guys I would highly suggest throwing your farseer in this group.

    Give these guys bright lances. That means they can pop tanks then shoot the heck out of the guys inside with their Catapults. Make sure to take shimmershield upgrade a 5+ inv in close combat will save you many times.

    Change these guys in to Dire Avengers like setup above the storm guardians are just to fragil to do anything useful for their points.

    You don't need the night spinner he is really just an ok unit. The Fire Prism does the same thing, take 3 of them that way if one drops you can still do the str 10. Remember they can do a large blast which is basically what a night spinner does.

    Alrighty boys and girls After trying out my 2K list finally(we are doing a point building league so I hadn't tried the full thing until a few days ago.) and reading allot of people replys both here and other places I have come up with some changes to the list to make it better.
