Welcome to Librarium Online!
Im new to eldar and recently bought alot of eldar for £60.
The army has to following
5 Fire Dragons - Exarch with Firepike
6 Scorpians - Exarch armed with Scorpian Claw
6 Harliquins - 2 with Harliquins kiss and 2 with Fusion Guns
12 Banshees - Exarch armed with Exicutioner
36 Gaurdians - (still need more i think )
12 Avengers - Exarch with Shimmershield (would it be worth swaping for Diresword)
6 Swooping Hawks
5 Dark Reapers
3 Heavy weapon platforms - not yet glued so can be assembled anyway possible.
I was wondering what list I should choose, out of all the above models. I usually play a Chaos player who likes to use ordinance from a Vindicator and Defiler. I usually struggle as they can dominate me in combat aswell as shooting - he uses 1 Termy Lord with 5 Termys, Deamon Prince of Khorne, 10 Marines with heavy bolter, 12 Berzerkers, 8 Thousand Sons, 2 Oblitorators, Defiler, Vindicator, 10 Possessed. His list is somehwere around 1500 to 2000 not to sure but he will adjust to what points I want to play. Im looking for a list around 1500 to 2000 and would be really grateful for all advice.

My thought is try to get some wave serpents mate.
Those units need transport to get to the action as well as running decoy for any units left foot slogging.
Otherwise I see several combos you can try.
Need to plan it a bit though.
Also what weapons on the vehicles and the wraithlord?
wraithlord has BL and sword. and flacon has star cannon i think (it is 2 shots at strength 6) and pulse laser. I usually put sum in the falcon but it is pretty crappy as it can only hold 6 i think. ye i will get hold of sum serpents my banshees are always getting nailed, not to bad for my scorpians infiltrated them and just kept them out of sight but 6 on there own is very very pathetic it was more of a distraction for a turn rather than them actually doing anything. Should i split my warlocks within my gaurdians or keep as a squad, or buy more and stick them in. i never really tried it before and was wondering if it is that effective. I no conceal is nice but if i get them in a transport is it worth the points.
I look at guardians as an objective holding unit of 10-15 models with support weapon and warlock.
6 dragons will go well in falcons, just get in the enemies grill and hammer the armour / heavy infantry.
I'd say run the warlocks in squads myself, unless you've got a bike squadron of them with singing spears!!
Just my thoughts to be honest as I'm starting eldar too and have limit resources so it's just use what I've got.
Play around with some lists until you feel happy then try to make it work, like DE I suspect eldar are fans of cover and hitting suddenly in force at a weak point.
thanks for your input and actually i do have dragons that are not on that list. Very old ones but i still have them haha. I will deffinatly be fielding them even if im not tank busting im termy busting even if they die after killing 3 and a tank theyve got there points back. Transports seems like a really really good idea to hide from them stupid ordinances aswell. i usually field gaurdians as 12's and have 3 squads with a heavy weapon platform which my friend so kindly lets me just use a base as there not glued and dont no what gun to use. I was thinking Dcannon as it can pen tanks and also kill anything else?
Avatar always goes toe to toe with the deamon prince and its become a little thing where every game no one will jump in and just let them slog it out. Im winning on 5 to 2 but he refuses that the avatar is better and tries every game. He may have more attacks with a khorne deamon prince but my avatar has a better inv.
Let me know how you get on with your eldar lists and what works best. DEFFINATLY always run dire avengers and i may just consider putting two little units of them in two transports as quick objective grabbers or atleast contest one. What weapon combos are better for the falcon and what weapon is best to put on the serpent.
This is just what I'm gonna try out but for the wave serpent I'm think shuriken cannons all the way, moving 12" a turn and getting twin linked cannon shots for the points they cost is good.
I'm looking a bright lance on the falcon so I can have between 2 and 3 anti tank shots a turn.
I think guardian squads should have scatter laser or star cannon for multiple shots at range.
D-cannons seem a solid choice for heavy support, can hurt anything really.
I saw a rather interesting tactica on how to use Guardians with the Avatar in 5th edition to rune a bio ball of death. You surround the Avatar with a Squad of 20 Guardians with a warlock that has Conceal. Make sure that the Farseer is near by and have him use fortune of the Guardians. Go to the center of the board and break up his formation. I haven't used it my self but have had it used against me to annoying effect.
Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.
Haha .. that seems like a good idea i always try and keep him close to my gaurdians anyway and all i do is march up the board they mainly get left alone as he thinks there rubbish then when 2 shots strength 4 gets close he realises there not. i think that the shuriken cannon in the troops would be good as they can pump out 3 from range then when in 12" a unit of 12 would get 24 shots at s4 and 3 at s6. thats got me thinking about how to use my gaurdians because they nearly always get under rated and he goes for the banshees all the time as they seem to rip up his terminators if he doesnt kill them. my plan for the dragons was to have the transport have a BL and go tank hunting till they are close enough then unload the fire dragons that can either shoot a few terminators or kill the other tank he has. not much point putting a BL in the gaurdians as they will have to give up a full squad of shooting to a tank but then again u might aswell tank hunt while ur range is rubbish, just coslty. not running harliquins, dont no what it is about them i just cant figure out if there rubbish or im just using them wrong. i use them when ive locked a unit in combat and i just hit and run constantly until im dead or they are. This just never seems to work though i just get counter charged by something else as he knows what im going to do. In my head that goes well and seems like a good plan but then on the board its not such an ideal idea.
Can you tell me about getting out of a transport ive been told but i always forget it. if i place 6 dragons in my falcon and go tank hunting when i jump out can i then shoot and then also what is the best way to get out of a tank so that not to get charged the turn after, as i have to get within 12". Ino you cant assault unless its an assualt vehicle, but just need to know how to get out still be able to shoot with my dragons and not get charged and also how to get my banshees out of a serpent and not get the same.
As for the getting units out from transports its placement.
Try to drop off in cover or against an isolated unit that will cop the pain and when they charge they're far less effective on the counter charge.
That's my idea for the quins, drop off in a good cover spot to assault or against an isolated unit that won't hurt as much when they get in.
do i have to tell my opponent that my dragons are in the back of my falcon. its not like i can cheat there on my list. just if i have to tell him theres very little surprise for him to deal with.
