I am interested in starting a necron army and I noticed that the battle force looks like it is worth the money. What are you thoughts on the battleforce and what else should I get to fill out the force?
It's a great basis for a force, but you will need an Overlord model as well. The battleforce doesn't include one of them.
In terms of expanding the force, you might consider:
a) another box of Immortals, to bring the squad up to 10.
b) one or two Barges. So you can have some Overlords on Command Barges or a couple of Annihilation Barges. Both are really good vehicles. Instead of gluing the gun or Overlord to the Barge, I've actually magnetised the Tesla Destructor weapon and the Overlord that comes with it. That way, I can use my Barge as either vehicle, just by swapping the cargo.
c) Lords and Crypteks. The Royal Court is such a great toolbox for a Necron army, that you'll almost certainly want some Lord and Cryptek models. You can either just buy the finecast models (if you're super-rich) or alternatively, you can buy a box of Lychguard and make/convert up some Lords and Cryptek models with those components and some warrior parts.
"Peace, through superior firepower."
Thanks for the tips and I cant wait to start playing them.
