Hi thinking of getting back to 40k after almost 2 years.
Thought id make a list and see what everyone thinks, such as changes, what they think and any c&c. Thanks.
Eldritch storm (i believe it has uses and seen someone use it well and it seems fun spinning a tank)
20 storm guardians - Basically havent really seen people use them. flamers for hordes. put seer here.
20 storm guardians
2 flamers (like flamers me )
enhance ( Might swap this for conceal and put eldrad in it )
5 Pathfinders - objective in my area and annoyances. Also good for taking out MC's.
Wraithlord - Long range anti-tank and lil pie plates aginst hordes giving them both flamers as well. Get help via eldrad.
9 Fire dragons - Deals with tanks and termies
3 War walkers - Anti-infantry and light tanks. Get help from seer
2 Starcannons each
So what do you all think.
All c&c welcome. Thanks.
i dont think that storm guardians are the best infantry to footslog, typically to offset the slow moving nature of the army you want extremely durable units like wraithguard. Wraithguard are also fearless and dont have to worry about morale (something guardians will have to worry about wityhout embolden)
yh i think you could be right. also that sounds kind of fun. but really made this list coz i was bored.
But i wouldnt mind seeing this played.
By the way im thinking of getting back into 40k, even though i just started to fantasy. Do u reckon its pointless to start now as apparently 6th is supposedly out in 2/3 months?
And also should i leave my army selection until then?
Also what should i play other than imperial marines, eldar coz i tried many times but just nver finished coz i lose interest and horde armies like orks?
Man im full of it today, sorry for all these questions
well idk its up to you i have numerous lists that i think would be fun to play that ive never gotten to finish. theres a great possibility that one or more of my current army set ups will see a nerf bat in the next rulebook but that doesnt stop me from playing them now. play around with different themed ideas until you find one that you like.
Most successful Footdar lists start with an Avatar, Eldrad, and Harlequins, and build from there. Use the Harlequins with the Shadowseer as a shield, with the Avatar's fearless bubble, and march on up to your enemy. Pathfinders can fill in your troops requirements but you're not going to be going out and grabbing many objectives with them, only holding them from the start. Also running 3 Wraithlords with missiles and lances will fulfill some anti-armor along with giving you 4 Monstrous Creatures.
Yh i think thats what i might do.
But could take me until 6th ed release to decide lol, coz unfortunately for 40k, only 40k, im one of those people who cant decide, or loses interest or whatever.
But im gonna try stay strong and pick an army for once and stay with them.
Cant decide between eldar, imperial guard and night lords chaos marines. Like all theyre backgrounds. Like their feels, i know they are all different but ive always played elite armies. Aagh!! please help guys.
With eldar id actually do a saim hann style army but not colour scheme.
IG id do roughed up style guard.
Or Night lords who are so freaking cool.
All seem so fun but which one, dont want all unfortunately not that rich lol.
In one hand ive always played elite so IG would be different, and other hand doing empire in fantasy so humans in 40k as well, or could just do Night Lords. Dunno.

Just had a random thought. Scorpions with Infiltrate might do well in a foot list. If anything they can act as a distraction while the rest of your army moves up. Just a thought I haven't actually used them.
