with imotekh and and the two solar pulses, i can either stay in nightfight nearly the entire game, or turn the lights back on in my turn if need me, while dropping lightning with imotekhs nightfight. with the two large units and wraiths and the two doom scythes this is a good thing because they wont be crippled by nightfight and desperately need the protection it brings. i have reliable anti mech with the two doom scythes, 2 lanceteks and the command barge, while the anni barge and wraiths can handle vehicles in a pinch as well. immotekh makes large unit of warriors relentless, and with them, the tesla immortals the ghost ark warriors, 2 units of wraiths and 3 tesla destructors i have a whole lot of reliable anti infantry support as well. i feel like this list would work incredibly well against an all comers type situation. tell me what you think, whether you disagree or think some changes might make it more viable. thanks for the input guys!
correct me if im wrong but i dont believe that immortals can in the the ark, the rules say only characters and warriors
this is my opinion, but im not a fan of imotek, i mean at large point games his powers would work a bit better (more chances to roll 6's) but other than that you might aswell take Zan, although Imo does have phaeron, so its up to you
but other than that ramble, i think its a good list, liking the doom scythes, tell us how it goes cause im thinking of using them
nice healthy core which is always important for crons, recommend taking a lord or two with orbs and place them in the immortal and 15x warrior squad, just to help keep them alive (sort of)
to pay for the lords you might have to drop a wraith off both squads or something
hope it helps
You might have just read it wrong, I dont have the 10 man immortal squad in the ghost ark, but the unit of 5 warriors accompanied by the two destruction crypteks. And your right, immortals cant ride in an ark unfortunately.
I know what your saying about imotekh, he is a whoole lotta points for what he does, but i find him useful. The flame template and 6-1 death ray type line he can drop has made him a deterrant for getting too close to his unit with dedicated assault troops in my experience, making me feel more comfortable taking a larger unit of warriors to accompany him without as much of a risk of them being swept. but if i dropped him i could take another command barge overlord, and still have 45 points left over to play with, maybe thrown towards a lord with res orb for that 15 man squad if i shave another 20 points off somewhere. the biggest thing about imotekh though is that the maxed out night fight with the two pulses is incredibly good in conjunction with my two wraith units and 2 doom scythes. because nearly half my army is in no way really affected by being in night fight themselves, i can use the solar pulses to keep him in the dark longer rather then turn the lights on for myself. i will probably try fielding this army with and without imotekh and see which way fares better. thanks for your input it was much appreciated!
I think it's a nicely constructed list that will do very well. In a 2000pt marine heavy environment, I think the storm lord will prove his worth, given the number of msu units. Also, based on my own experiences, handle the doom scythes with extreme care, in 6th edition things might change, but at the moment the doom scythe can be torn to pieces quite easily!
i have had a change of heart, keep imotek
what i look to do is have a quick muk around game to test units i feel unsure about, used Imo and he did some real damage (against a mates DE blew up half his raiders in one turn, good rolling on my part)
but my original concerns with Imo is people tend to take him for lightning and that doesnt work to often, but since your 2k he will do some damage
just be careful with the doom sythes. they are glass cannons, but i sopose thats why you have multiple ones
