Just wondering if the Tracker Kindred shown in the merc list and the Forge World Gnarloc Riders are supposed to be the same or whether the Imperial Armour book states that there are some sort of differences between the two.
I ordered up the bits to make the models shown in the merc list (krootox heads and cold one body) and wanted to know if I could have just bought the FW model and saved myself a lot of time in modeling the same thing.
Thanks for any info.
Yes, they are the same model, so unfortunately you could have saved yourself modelling time. However, if you enjoy modelling then it will be an enjoyable exercise, plus much more room for customization. The models on Forgeworld will definately look better, but at 40 pounds plus shipping for just three, you really have to have the money to burn on them..
ya for 18 pts models too...
They seem to have blades on their rifles, so I thought they may have been something different too.
So you can order parts from FW? Does that mean I can order the riders from FW and then put them on some cheapo dinosaurs from ToysRus?
How do I go about ordering just the riders?

It'll have a kroot on top what more do they want?
Sorry but i really hate that poxy rule. If I spend ages cleverly converting something I want to be able to use it, especially if it looks unique and awesome, and conforms to WYSIWYG. I know they are out to make money and all but isn't converting/modelling supposed to be a part of the hobby?
Well I can't do it anyway, I went to FW FAQ, in case anyone else is wondering you can't just order bits, you have to get the whole model.
Back to the drawing board I guess, coz I sure as hell ain't paying about $250 australian for one cavalry unit.
Maybe I'll still make up a few anyway, at least until the Pound moves back down to somwhere around $1.50...
Good luck with the pound moving down any time soon, the american dollar is down the crapper. Im glad i kept my bank account back in scotland before i moved to the states.
This is the listing of kroot rules in imperial armour 2.
Goaded Great Knarloc
Mounted Great Knarloc
Baggage Great Knarloc
Kroot Knarloc Riders <--------- is this another type of rider on a knarloc. I currently do not have the book so i have no idea...but thats what you guys are for.
I thought they might be different due to blades on their guns as robotnik said.
Tracker Kindred and Knarloc Riders are different types of units, and are not interchangeable ruleswise... I have both CA2004 and the IA Update 2004, so I have checked this.
Modelwise, By simply trimming the FW Kroot Rifles You could most probably use them as Tracker Kindred... But yes, it will probably be a bit cheaper to convert the Trackers Yourself. =)
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
Guess i need to buy that book then.."shakes fist at GW." I presume knarloc riders have kroot rifles which would make them a tad more useful in close combat. Anyone used any of these units out of IA update 2004?
Also those units arent tournament legal...right?
TA very much Uzi-99.
