If you take Anghkor Prok as your HQ choice in a Kroot Merc army, does he count as your Master Shaper for the purpose of a Master Shaper being a must have in your army?
Also, if you give the rest of your army a Signature Evo thing... are you allowed to give it to Anghkor Prok aswell (lets say, +1 iniative) as it does say in its rules "and apply it to every Kroot in the army. Krootox and Kroot Hounds do not benefit..."
1) yes he does count as your master shaper.
2) No Anghkor Prok is a special character and must be used exactly as stated in his profile.
hope this helps.
He's a Friend of the Tau, so I'd think he was only allowed in a Tau army. If allowed in a Kroot force though, it could be sick attaching him to a Kroot Hound pack, and alpha rushing the target. 180 WS 4 S 4 attacks/turn gets a lot deadlier when you can reroll to hit.
Nope, he can be in a Tau or Kroot Merc army. It says so very clearly in his rules. I fail to see everyones problem with understanding this...
And Pye, thanks, that's basically what I thought aswell. I just wanted to know what other people thought, because it isn't entirely clear.
Very interesting, I am glad you brought up this point. The original rules for Anghkor Prok, specifically stated that he could be used in a Tau army, but did not mention anything about his use in Kroot armies. That is where the confusion is coming from, however, I just found the rules that you are probably referring to: http://uk.games-workshop.com/tau/anghkor%2Dprok/1/
As for the rules I have to agree with the previous poster.
1) He is a master shaper, 2) He must be used "exactly as described."
However, you can still take evo adaptations based on the krootox/kroot hound precedent. All units that can be effected by an evo adaptation when an army takes one must have it. However, there are units that can not take the evo adaptation of the army, which includes hounds, krootox, and Anghkor Prok, but you can still use them in an army with an evo adaptation.
This, I must say, is a most sick prospect and something I shall be incorporating into future army lists. The one real problem with him is that if you use him, you'll have to pick up a shaper council to bring in a kroothawk totem, which is expensive pointswise doing it that way.

Yet sadly, this also will be the only way to mass-purchase Meltaguns/Plasma Guns. Still, in the meantime, attaching Prok to the Hound Pack is a sick prospect...Originally Posted by Maus154
