I play bad moons, don't worry
One thing, your flash gitz. You have to pay for the more dakka for the whole squad (see clanz FAQ iirc). Just because you have big shootas doesn't mean you don't have to get the upgrade on the model (even though its useless). I know its irksome but I always get shootier, the cheapest one, so it doesn't bother me.

ALways get armour plates for all vehicles aswell. This brings your kans up to 150 pts, and is well worth it.

Don't give your warboss a kustom mega blasta unless he has Mega Armour, because to fire it you have to stay still and can't assault (even a transport must stay still for him to fire it).

I assume you are using the grot unit to cover the flash gitz? I wouldn't bother as you have force feilds in the units (just like I do ), and you can only make 1 save, the 5+ cover from force field, or 5+ and kill a grot instead - which makes more sense?

Your big mek has no real value to your army either. He has no mek things, and you aren't allowed to give him big horns i'm afraid.
Make him more meky, and swap the mek in the slugga unit for a regular nob.

That's annoying about the "more dakka". I figured that might be how it works but it seems unfair. I guess I need to read the FAQ. Where can I find it?

You really find that armor plates help? I know it's few points but still it's only giving you a 15% chance of saving... I guess that is something to think about.

With the Warboss I thought I had to take the Kustom Mega Blasta. It says I receive it for free. Does that mean it's optional or required? Is that covered in the Klan FAQ?

Yeah, the grots were cover for the gitz, but then I changed things up and added the Kustom Fields. I should probably remove this unit and recover the points.

The Big Mek can take Big Horns. The codex says he can be given stuff normally only allowed for the warboss and nobz. Also, he not useless, he leads the slugga boys into battle. He has the same stats as a Nob but he has a burna which a nob can't take. Also the mekboy that leads the slugga squad has a kustom force field so I wouldn't want to take him out because he is protecting the battlewagon and the boyz with his field.

Thanks a lot for the response. great advice.

ahh yes, he can take big horns, my mistake.
I still think a standard nob would be better, because for one thing if you want a burna get one for a slugga boy for cheaper.

The Ork FAQ says that the mega blasta is optional, you don't have to have it at all. You also don't have to give a kustom job to flash gitz, but I do anyway, got to love str 5

Yes, armour plates are brilliant. Cheap, and when you roll the 6 the look on your opponants face is priceless :p

The armor plates just change a penetrating to a glancing hit correct... so he can still kill you... That's why I wasn't hot on them. It might be a nice moment but if I get 70 points of armor plates for all my vehicles I could also scrap it and get 8 more orks... that's why I was skeptical.

No, armour plates on a 6+, stop the hit altogether, completely nulified, rubber ammunition, etc.
You roll a 6, they do no damage, simple as that

armour plates are a must for any ork, give your battle waggons red paint too, that extra inch matters. A force field is good b/c if you put the gitz in the waggons, the waggon gets glancing hits on it only. and if you find some points somewhere, try to add some megga armour instead of a power claw, and some cyborks cause they're cool and not bad either.
