I came up with a great name for a carnifex... Carnotaur. What do you think? I reckon it sounds a bit like Carnage Bull, which is fitting. My maths might also be slightly out, so if you spot anything, could you please tell me?
    Thanks.

looks fairly good. I wouldn't mix the roles in which the Tyrant would be doing. so make it all shooting ot all combat. broodlord looks fine. if u can free the points up somewhere, give u're warriors leaping, and maybe rending claws. RC will really help and leaping means it'll have a chance to provide some fast synapse. with the Carni, change the WS AG to I, it'll mean u attack before power fists. other than that it looks allright.

I second that one. I would also suggest, if you can find the points, either giving your Tyrant a retinue, (for shooting Tyrants), or wings, (for CC monsters).

Looks good. The Carnifex actually has to be fielded as a heavy support because it's not UNDER 115 points.
From the unspeakable cold of the intergalactic void, an immeasurable alien intelligence moves ever closer. Barren husks of countless star systems lie in its wake.

The first tendrils of the Great Devourer, a single entity stretching over light years of space and controlled by the immortal Hive Mind, have probed our galaxy and found it rich in prey.

    It has begun to feed.

indeed 114 pts or less if it must be an elite fex, i say dump the sporecyst, too much of a risk.

This list looks very good at killing Imperial Guard, Orks and other army's with 5+ saves or worse. Lots of attacks coming from the Raveners, Hormagaunts and Warriors. The barbed strangler on the Hive Tyrant is also a great Guard killer, and in this list will become a great distraction to help the Broodlord, Warriors and Raveners get into close combat intact.

Drop the psychic power the Horror on the Zoanthropes, My Zoanthropes have never been charged in any battle I have played or seen in my life, both with Warp Blast and the Synapse power on mine have been very effective. There are some Genestealers there but maybe some rendering claws and leaping added to the warriors as said by Marvus would make this list very capable of killing power armour army’s as well.

The Gaunts with just the Fleshborers are not that expensive, 84pts not 93pts

I just figgered out out that my list was way out points wise...
And yes I did spell figgered that way on purpose...
But to shave off some points I've swapped a few things round.
I downgraded my termagaunts to spine gaunts.
    I gave the broodlord carapace.
I moved the carnifex to heavy support and gave it a barbed strangler, enhanced senses.
I switched the tyrants talons for a Twin Linked devourer.
I changed the frag mines to toxin mines.
    I dropped the horror.
I can still tweak my list as I have not fully built the army yet, I am still in development and changes can be made. But I love the mental image of a fex wading through enemy troops and popping mines out of its back.
I have 124 points left and I don't know how to spend it. But don't say gargoyles. Shudder.
Should I give my fex another wound, more toughness, or both? What have your experiences been?

Give him the extra toughness. The complete invulnerability to strength 3 is a hoot. This way, Orks, Imp Guard etc, CAN'T hurt you in CC.

with a 124 pts left u can add the extra toughness and a dakka fex, or somehting cheap in points along those lines. providing the enemy with 3 MC, rather then 2 is another big advantage. looks good otherwise.

I agree, some more pts spent on your carnifex.
Another wound, more toughness and extended carapace.
This will make the beast so much tougher and a lot of fun to play with.
My carnifex has a good amount of upgrades, and now I have seen it survive things that back in the 3rd edition would be considered godly.:w00t:
    It has
Adrenal Glands +1 I and Ws,
    Bonded Exoskeleton,
    Enhanced Senses,
    Extended Carapace,
    Toxic Miasma,
    Barbed Strangler,
    Scything Talons,
    214pts

Taking the little upgrades from my experience makes a great difference in how long your carnifex will survive.
You can take away one gaunt from your army and replace it with Toxic Miasma, combine it with Adrenal Glands Ws and now your carnifex is hitting on 3+ agents most space marine units and 4+ at the worst.
My carnifex has been up agents a Bloodthirster and an Avatar, and with these new upgrades was able to slay his opponent and survive longer.
