Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey every one. I am really gettin interested in the awesomeness of Kroot, and I think that once i start work on my Iron Hands that I will get a small (1500pt) Kroot list made up. But before I go any furth I need a few things clarified.
First, do shapers required to lead a unit have to pay 2 or 5 points for the EDIT! sorry, I meant ork hybrid...no wonder I was confused....
Second, and this is more of a general rules question, but still pertaining to kroot; if the kroot have 12" or less woods in front of them, does that mean their guns can shoot up to that 12" or the full 24"? Of course these kroot were standing still that turn.
I found something odd in the rules wording on Krootox's. it says that if all foot kroot are killed, then the krootox are removed as casualties. does this mean that, atleast in shooting, the krootox will never get wounded, as you allocate wounds to kroot, then they just wander off? Or does one of the 10-20 krot count as the rider? but that case would contradict the rules for krootox instakill. can anybody clarify this confusing set of rules? even tho I don't plan on using them, they might be considered for a later expansion if I actually knew how to use em....
Now, I also have a few inquires about modeling.
How does one go about making plastic kroot into shapers?
Can I represent the ork hybrid in another way? I really don't want to have ugly ork parts on my models, and would rather do something like have the kroot grow small armor plates or scales or sumthing...
how do you get other races weapons to fit with the odd kroot hands? is it even possible to get one to hold a two handed weapon with two hands? and is there any easy way to make the handels and stuff look right?
Well, I might have more questions here too, but thats all for now...I guess... Thanks for helping me out.
Welcome to the challenging world oif the kroot mercenaries.
First unless stated otherwise (for master shapers and the shaper council) shaper pay the same cost as their unit.
Yes, you can shoot fully out of the piece of terrain.
The krootox as a combined profile. This means that when shooting the rider is hit, (hence Toughness 3 for instant kill, and if it would be caused instant death, the whole model is removed (hence why the krootox wanders off, it's rider is dead)
With alot of Conflict experience, I now realise that ork hybrid isn't the best way to go. Either make a shooting list with Bold (+1 leadership, you need it for morale checks) or speed with fast reflexes (+1 inititative) this will aloow you to have up to 10-15 more kroot at 1700 pts, as the upgrade is only 1 pt as compared to 2/5 for shapers.
I use alot of green stuff to extend or reshaspe arms and legs, and slow bending helps too, don't be afraid to cut off rifles to get good hand positions, and a good file will do the rest.
If you have more questions please do ask, glad to help a fellow kroot.
wait, so does that mean a shaper on a carnivore squad gets the ork hybrid for 2 or 5? I mean, the description says +5 per Shaper & Master Shaper, not Shaper council members. This would mean all shapers are included... I think your thinking of the * marked weapons. (I noticed on some of your lists, you pay 5 for some of the shapers in the list, and only 2 for others, Wolf_Pack)
Oh, and does it matter which model i put blood of the stalker on if i am attaching a master shaper to a vulture kindred, the master or the vulture shaper?
