1850 Tau list for your opinions.

I used to play quite a lot in 3rd edition but haven't had any experience since 4th. Here's a tide-me-over Tau list I've been thinking about:

    A. Shas'O 133
+Plasma rifle, Fusion Blaster, shield generator, HW Multitracker

    B. XV8 Team 1 (2 crisis suits) 112
    +TL Missile Pod (x2), +Target Lock (x2)

    C. XV8 Team 2 (3 Crisis Suits) 232
+TL Plasma Rifles (x3), Drone Controller and 2 Gun drones (x3)

    D. FCWs Team 1 (12 warriors) 120
    +12 Pulse Rifles

    E. FCWs Team 2 (12 warriors) 235
+6 pulse rifles, 6 pulse carbines, Devilfish, Disruption Pod, 2 Seeker missiles, Multitracker

    F. Kroot Carnivores (12 warriors) 117
    +Shaper, 6+ Armour

    G. Human Auxiliaries (6 soldiers) 62
    +Pulse Carbines (x2), +EMP grenades

    H. Pathfinder Team (8 Scouts) 254
+photon grenades, Shas'ui leader, Rail Rifles (x2), Devilfish, Disruption pod, 2 Seeker Missiles, Sensor Spines, Multitracker

    I. Gun Drones (8 Drones) 96

    J. Tetras (2 scout vehicles) 120
    +dirsuption pod

    K. Hammerhead Gunship 1 175
+Railgun, SMS, Disruption Pod, Target Lock, Black Sun Filter

    L. Hammerhead Gunship 2 175
+Railgun, SMS, Disruption Pod, Target Lock, Black Sun Filter

    ------
    1831

I ended up with more points left over than I thought because I suck at math. So regarding (C.), yes, I know gun drones are useless escorts for Crisis Suits. I tacked them because I painted some up in the suits' colors and couldn't think of anything to equip them with instead. Regarding (B.), yes, I know that having 2 Target Locks in this unit is redundant, however, I want them to be cheap and there's nothing cheaper to put in that 3rd hard point. Regarding (G.), I put them in as a cheap ploy- either my opponent ignores them (and risks me getting a lucky pin or if I'm really lucky getting close to a vehicle with those EMPs) or he engages them with one of his units (which keeps that unit from bothering my important stuff). In the case that neither happens, I can at least use them to claim a table quarter.

    Good list .

There are things you can do to make it better, want a list (of flaws)?

And that's just with the Kroot.

Sure. I'm mulling over dropping the Crisis Drones until they give us good rules and trying to figure out what to fill the remaining points with.

I absolutely love the crisis suits you've taken, your commander isn't so great, but he's not bad.

The problem is the little things. Don't use pulse carbines on fire warriors, give decoy launchers to devilfish, disruption pods are not a good buy on devilfish, kroot are better without a shaper and save, and in squads of 10, don't stick photon grenades on pathfinders, don't use rail rifles, don't get sensor spines, against you need decoy launchers, not disruption pods, you have too many seekers, you should only have 2, your pathfinder unit will be better as a unit of 6, with a shas'ui, and

most importantly you must have decoy launchers and multitrackers on your hammerheads.
