What do you think and please help if you think it is not good
One thing, a broodlord need at least 5 genestealers in his retinue and give him toxin sacs, and replace the fex's twinlinked deathspitter with a BS, I have no idea what a twinlinked deathspitter could do on a fex that it couldn't do on a warrior. You also need more synapse for 64 gaunts.
learning new things every day
As mentioned, you need a retinue of between 5-11 stealers.Originally Posted by SnagaI love winged warriors, but only with a winged tyrant for the added fast attack (and to give them something to hide behind when cover isn't available). I'd probably drop the toxin sacs, though.Originally Posted by SnagaLictors never really tend to impress, but they can sometimes make up their points... Just remember not to go after enemy squads unless you have to. They're best at taking down those annoying basilisks hidden out of LOS in a corner behind terrain.Originally Posted by SnagaThese are actually 160 points.Originally Posted by SnagaScything talons are great on stealers, but they start to make them pretty expensive with carapace.Originally Posted by SnagaI'd drop the AG-I and definitely split these into 2-3 broods.Originally Posted by SnagaWell, I guess with fleshborers they can glance skimmers, as they'll be a big problem for your list. Otherwise I'd recommend spine fists if you have the models for them.Originally Posted by SnagaNever used ripper swarms, do they have a purpose here or are you using them just because you have them?Originally Posted by SnagaI prefer extended carapace over bonded exoskeleton, as where I play there are more than a few Ork players with TONS of ap3 missiles.. Also, as mentioned, drop the TL-spitter and take a BS.Originally Posted by Snaga
Synapse is going to be a huge problem. Your flying warriors are very fragile to enemy fire, so you'll need to be hiding them on their approach, which means they most likely won't be providing synapse support to your gaunts. And then your broodlord, if he infiltrates, will be out of synapse range, and if he doesn't, will get out-paced by the gaunts....
That, and the list has very little in terms of AV. Skimmers and heavy tanks will be very difficult to break.
Look at your list from your opponants POV.
If your facing Orks, your OK.
But if your facing with decent shooting, you have problems.
Here is an example of how I would deal with this force using a shooty army.
With 1500 of eqipment, I'd be dumping EVERY SHOT into your warriors and Broodlord, and with 1500 points, there will be enough to kill them by turn 2.
In addition to this, I'll put one squad in front that is MEANT to enter CC. That CC will then tie up your guys for 1 turn, giving me 2 turns of shooting at your warriors/broodlord.
Once your synapse is gone, your Ld5 gaunts are of little threat.
Your Stealers will still be there, ok.
But 1/3 of your force, the gaunts, wont be able to act because of IB tests.
You need 1 more synapse unit.
Doesnt really matter what it is, but you need 1 more.
(BTW, I too faced this problem.. not enough synapse, and what there is isnt really worth it)
BTW, why the rippers?
With the stealers and gaunts, you have your troops necessities.
Their leadership is nice and all, but they cost alot for what they do.
(and star cannons will smoke 'em)
As of Tyranid 5th Ed. codex I have the Gaunts I wanted. I did, however, loose the sniperfexs I relied upon and they were more important then the gaunts.
i would get rid of the rippers and the termagaunts and use the points for more warriors or synapse zoanthroaps. i would also make your brood of 48 hormagaunts into 4 broods of 12 or three broods of 16. and drop teh scything talons on your genestealers.

the ripper swarms can be usefull, expensive though they are, just not often enough to put points into. i love my lictor, that being said about 1/3 games he is a lost 80 points, be very carefull about how u use him, he is an awesome piece i swear. i dont like tox sac on rending warriors, if they arent rending they are allowing saves probably a 4+ or 3+, i dont depend on my opponents ever rolling bad(in fact i always play asuming i will roll handfulls of 1's and 2's). you need more synapse. i also prefer the toughness upgrade for carnifexs, not alot of ork waaghs here. you've got a decent amount of scary units genes broodlord carnifex lictor warriors, but that being said you need to be more staby in a 1500 point list. youve got a good basic concept of swarm just keep the swarm aspect cheap and big and add more stompy slashy smashy spiky things straight out of the nightmares of the imperiums toughest.
remember the crunchier the armor the tastier the biomass
