Welcome to Librarium Online!
I give this army list this name because of effects its going to potentially have on my opponent. It forces them into making a lot of undesirable actions and can lead to distracting my opponent from their own goal and strategy. The strategy with this army is not to decimate the opponent in CC or destroy them with a rain of fire. The attempt is to effectively combine both to break the enemy by keeping them pinned/forcing off board edge. Please offer your opinions.
-lashwip + bonesword
-1x tyrant guard
Tyranid Warriors x3
-barbed strangler x1
Tyranid Warriors x3
-venom cannon x1
I've also considered reducing the first stealer brood by 1 unit and giving both zoanthropes synapse instead, to increase coverage. Opinions?
The army is very small. it only has 49 models. While the big and medium bugs are cool I would consider droping a few to get more little bugs. Unless your theme is to have lots of larger bugs, in which case go ahead.
there are 3 types of people in this world. People who can count and people who can't.
I think you might be on to something but you need to take it all the way. If you want panic, put in two tyrants with psychic scream and three zoanthropes with psychic scream... then lots of barbed stranglers and maybe switch the biovores to acid. All you need is the one casualty to cause a pinning test, and the AP3 is what is going to make that possible (if you are actually fighting a non-3+ army, the barbed stranglers will cover you). Aaaawww.. I can't pin your guys? How about if their LD test is at -3? Turns rock hard marines into sniveling babies.
I think it would be pretty hard to actually make it work, honestly, but I like the idea.
I think that if I remove one squad of warriors, I can afford a 3rd zoanthropes, give all 3 synapse, and upgrade the mines to bio-acid. Do you think it would also be a good idea to buy some spore mines to deep strike as fast attack?
Second, where would you reccomend i get the points from to pay for a second hive tyrant? I want to keep the lictors, because I know the kind of effect 3 lictors in hiding can have on a player relying on cover. I want to keep the carnifex for the obvious reason of how intimidating it would be to see one on the board.

I have noticed on a lot of lists that scuttle has been left off the Stealers....is there a reason for this?
I dont want my stealers in front of the gaunts. This way, my opponent has to pass a leadership test to shoot at my stealers.
Then why not just give your gaunts scuttle too?
Points. And not to mention, that with Leadership 5, I definitely want to have those little guys under synapse coverage, meaning I'll have to spend even more points to get a winged tyrant or gaurds, else they'll just end up waiting for my synapse anyways.
well for that one extra Stealer that you have in that one squad you could give all of your Gaunts scuttle.
and one of your warrior squads and your tyrant depending how they were deployed would more then cover the synapse range for your all important rush across the board with your Stealers.
now with a leadership of 8 ....which all SM have (not sure about the other races) that means they have a 66% chance of ignoring your gaunts anyway......
IMO it is best to get those Stealers across the table ASAP. Without scuttle 1 bad FoC roll could be the difference in a turn 2 or turn 3 assault, in which case both squads of Gaunts would definitely be decimated and your Stealer squads would be depleted.
I know this is ending abruptly but i forgot what else was on your list...lol
