all help will be apreciated(spelling?)
Tau should be easy for you to beat. Your fast and when you reach him his front lines will shatter. I have played Tau many times, and really the strategy to win vs. them, for me anyways, is rather simple. Just rush him and engage him...it's over after that point. Just make sure to have plenty of synapse, because a good Tau player will fire those railguns right at your warriors and such.

alrite thanks...eny more advise?
I think the list looks fine.
it's not so easy as that if you are playing a mechanized tau army. although not quite as fast as your nids, the devilfish, hammerheads, and crises can hold their own manuvering around your nids. many tyranid players dont expect the enemy to move towards them or half of the enemy army to deepstrike in their deployment zone. railgun submunition pie plates of doom can take quite a chunk out of a nid army too. if your opponent uses his firewarriors in a napoleonic war fashion (shoulder to shoulder lines, FIRE!) then its easy to win, but if he uses his fish to manuver around and exploit breaks in your line and pulls a fish of fury, you may very well lose a whole squad to 24 plasma rifle shots, 3 burst cannon shots, and 2 twin-linked pinning gun drone shots. tau do not shine the brightest standing in line and firing. that's IG crap. if u want to beat him, try to draw his fire to your tyrant and fexes. in my first battle against nids i concentrated all my fire on his fexes and tyrants. i didnt think those cute little aliens could hurt my shiny suits and tanks, but oh how i was wrong. it really depends on how your enemy uses his army, if he's a stand and shoot you win, but if he moves he has a chance:shifty:
to battle the Mech Tau... find something to drop and give your Warriors leaping.
maybe a zoanthrope or 2
biovores with bio-acid
make sure you protect your slower critters from those pesky deepstriking fireknives (missle pod, plasma rifle crisis). plasma rifle will blow away the fexes and the pods will hit the smaller guys from a long distance away.
Agreed, but if your army is fast enough you could possibly just leave his deep strikers in the dust. But, if your cousin uses a vehicle heavy army, you probably will want more anti-tank, because hammerheads are very hard to pin down for long. However, with leaping and fleet of claw you could easily chase down any fire warriors that try to fish of fury.Originally Posted by Red_Storm

Depending on the size of the table, you really need some hormagaunts. With them you look for a turn 1 assault. Take leaping warriors to give them synapse. Once in CC Tau have practically lost. Tie up the squads that are doing the most damage to you if you get the choice. Do not forget Tau fire warriors have WS 2 and I 2, so you can munch on their bones. [EDIT]: Although they are not too good at it, try to go for the Tau rather than the kroot if ther are any
