Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys . I have been working on making an army to combat my friend who plays Grek Knights. The difficult part is that he likes to use a LOT of terminators which abosoultely slaughter me. Though once in awhile five of my warriors have killed 5 of his terminantors lol . This is tha latest list i have come up with.
Lord w/ Res orb
30 Warriors split into two groups of 15
10 Destroyers split into two groups of 5
5 Hvy Destroyers split into a 3 and 2
What im looking to do is be able to take out his regular troops with the destroyers and use the Hvy on the term's. Another problem is that he likes to deepstrike a lot but im not too worried about that. Any comments would be great!
I would make room to fit a monolith in your list and put a VoD on your lord. When he deepstrikes his termies and GK squads you can teleport everything away from him. or teleport with your lord and use the monolith to particle whip normal grey knights to death.
My list would look like this:
this leaves you with 95 points to work with, alternativly you caould also drop each squad of warriors to 12 and that would leave you with 203 pts to get more destroyers of either variety.
If your list looked like this you would have the mobility to take advantage of the grey knights low rate of movement, you could then pick them off with fire power at your leasure
these are just suggestions based off of my own opinion though.

-grey night termies are even better against necrons than normal ones, which wipe the floor. normally i would suggest tomb spiders as they go first and pierce armor, but in this case they don't go first.
-definatly drop the destroyers, they will do absolutely nothing to termies, warriors are much better.
-ctan's rip nasitly throught termies
-personally i would recomend=
necron lord, res-orb, VOD, warsythe=210
2 x 20 warriors=720
5 heavy destroyers=195
thus you can kill termies with HD's and nightbringer while keeping your warriors out of CC, and in rapid fire with the VOD and lith.
Procrastination- hard work often pays off over time, but laziness always pays off now.
Indifference- it takes 43 muscles to frown, and 17 to smile, but none to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
-Votewar 40K III= 1st place
-Votewar 40k mini= 2nd place
-Votewar fantasy 2= 2nd place
I play againt Grey Knights the most, and they are a real pain in the butt. I can't kill thier termie HQ, and that orbital strike can be nasty. I hate thier flame weapons too.
Grey Knights have two big weaknesses 1) there are very few of them. You will prob outnumber them 2-1. 2) They actually have very few big guns with low AP, so high toughness and tanks give them problems. Monolith and a Destoyer Lord are both great.
I would leave the H Destroyers at home, they will be dead by turn 3 and may not have killed more than one termie each. Spyders and swarms are also useless cause they will just die. Wraiths and Flayed Ones just don't stand up either.
This army is ripe for a C'tan (watch the force weapon though). I take Immortals, and lots of Warriors. Shoot the s%$@ out of them, and when they get you in close combat teleport out and do it all again. Make sure you are always covered by a res orb and you should win. I win about 80% of the time against them.
I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned Pariahs. They're tougher than warriors, shoot like immortals and do horrible things to terminator suits. You'll have to be kinda careful with them but back them up with a lord with a big stick and they should do quite nicely. I can't think off the top of my head what their psychic influence would be on Grey Knights.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
thanks for the great advice guys. Im gona prob blend a lot of what u guys have suggested into one army like dropping destroyers, picking up ctan, and stuff like that. To the guy that suggested pariahs, the only reason they are not good is that GK termies strike at like I 5 i think and have 2 attacks each so all your pariahs are basically dead at the end of combat. Also, GK are fearless so that aspect of the pariah is gone too.
I've played against GKs many times, and I warn you about taking ctan. It's tue that if you manage to get him into CC it will crunch them, but get away of the Psi-cannon, it avoids invulnerable saves and that's all you have with the ctan. If he pack 4 of then with it's range and power it can take down the ctan in the first o second turn before you can do nothing
Alas, Terminators are the bane of our metallic warriors. I find that there si nothing you can do but pump in massive firepower and use VoD and Monolith's Portal to get them outta CC.
If you are a King, beware...
I actually dont have a big problem with GK, whether they are the termie or normal variety.
The biggest reason for this is that GK are a footslogging army once they teleport. If you use heavy and normal destroyers, a lith, and a lord with VoD, you can run circles around GK and control the battlefield, then you can pick them off with firepower with little to no real resistance.
As long as you make sure that you take alot of mobile stuff, and a couple units of warriors or immortals that can be 'ported. You shouldnt really have to much of a problem.
<EDIT> and never EVER take pariahs against GK termie squads, unlike other termie squads, With the Termie's Nemesis Force weapons, they would wipe the floor with the pariahs before the pariahs could even hit back.

i dont play necrons but i would break down the 2 15man squad into 3 10 man squad just so they can fire at differnt things and dont all get tied up ld is 10 so test arent a issue. also i would add the mon. they are super hard to kill and they should make short work of the gk terms
