Well, this is my first try at a Necron list.. meant to be reasonably competitive, but at the same time reasonably fun on the table. Not as fluffy as my normal lists, but I did try to counter that with the whole "let's not use a Monolith!" thing.. as I don't see them being necessary to win with. So, let's see what you guys think of this.
+Veil of Darkness
Section Total: 200 points
Section Total: 1116 points
Section Total: 280 points
Section Total: 123 points
 Heavy Destroyer
 Heavy Destroyer
Section Total: 130 points
ARMY TOTAL: 1849 points
Phase Out: 20
So, what do you guys think? A bit slow, I know, but I'm hoping that Veil of Darkness combined with the Wraiths and H. Destroyers should help make up for that and box the enemy's faster units into a nice LOS for the whole army. I'm sure that that much Gauss (and the strength of the Heavy Gauss Cannons) should be more than enough to make enemy armour scared.
emm im a bit new so forgive my naivaity but arnt u better putting the wraits in one squad 2 benefit from wbb.
Nope; I'm keeping them separate, and here's why:Originally Posted by C'tan
1) They will be much (much) safer from combined shooting; i.e., a squad of Devestators with Lascannons or something can only take out one at a time, instead of a possible all three.
2) They won't be able to get caught up in CC as easily by one "cheap unit"; one can take care of those, and the other two can go off and do something else.
Of course, that does say something about WBB; however, in most cases (almost every case) I will be keeping them near eachother, anyways. The reason I split them up is just to keep them alive.
I'm pretty sure I can keep them split up and still do the WBB; as long as they are within half a foot of one another.
