IMO you should make the lord fully kitted out with a res. orb, phlacetry and warscythe as with his T6 he will be a real pain to kill in CC and bolters have little chance of killing him.

You need to use at least 30 warriors as a core to your force otherwise your numbers will be to low.

I advise against the c'tan as they are too pricey, I would rather use a monolith as it makes the army more resilient (and I really like the model).

A squad of 4 destroyers is a must, if you can minimise any fire against them they will provide serious mobile firepower.

The tomb spyder really helps WBB and isn't too bad at combat as he is fearless and T6 but he should be kept out of CC.

Take 10 scarab swarms (without D. field) and 4 pariahs and that should be your 1500 points (note that no units have D. fields).

That lot will make a balanced list that has lots of firepower and a decent amount of CC, just make sure that the pariahs are protected at all costs as footslogging them across the board is hard. Any enemy worth their salt will go for them first so using them well is a bit of an art.

This is my advice so I hope it helps.

Lots of scarab swarms eh? consider taking the lord with the swarms and charging into cc. if the lord has "lightning field", I think thats what its called, they can do so much damage in cc. every time you take a wound you give one back out and scarab swarms have 5 wounds each! True it wont really hurt terminators or other heavily armored opponents but it will kill tau, ig, orks, tyranids, and eldar for the most part.

daroc, scarbs have 3 wounds each not 5! but the tactic holds true.

well here is my 1500 pt list that seems to work well for me against most armies(more to come on that):

    HQ
    Lord W/ res orb & VOD 200

    Troops
    20 warriors 360
    20 warriors 360

    FA
    3 destroyers 150
    3 destroyers 150
    10 scarab W/dfeild 160

    Heavy support
    2 tomb spyders 110

    total crons 47
    phase out 12
    points 1490

this army does wellexcept against things with low inv saves( still alot of firepower does make even low inv save modles sometimes wince) also against things with no tanks the scarabs are not going to need dfeilds. havent figureed what to add in yet though lol.

Too quick for groan or sigh,
Each turned his face with a ghastly pang,
And cursed me with his eye.

    Four times fifty living men,
(And I heard nor sigh nor groan)
With heavy thump, a lifeless lump,
They dropped down one by one"

This is not a bad list, however, I would split your two warrior squads into 4 squads of 10. 4 squads allow you to split your firepower between more targets. Unless of course you are using your lord with one of the squads along with the veil of darkness. Even then you could still split one of the squads.
