Welcome to Librarium Online!
Today I played my first game against SM.I lost but it was a very close game.
Well I guess I wasnt having begginers luck because the guy I was playing against said I was rolling the worst rolls he's ever seen.
Here is the list I used,Im looking for improvement from experienced players.
HQ:Hive Tyrant.(148 points)
He was mowed down by his lascannons on his predator and dreadnaught,he was the second to go after the carnifex.
Elites:3 Warriors.(115 points)
First WarriorS,EC,Scything Talons,Rending Claws,Leaping.(37 points)
Second WarriorS,EV,Death Spitter,Leaping,Scything Talons.(39 points)
Third WarriorS,EV,Death Spitter,Leaping,Scything Talons.(39 points)
Lasted in CC for awhile but since I rolled the dice horribly they failed.
Troops:12 Hormagaunts,12 Spinegaunts.
12 Hormaguant.(120 points)
12 Spinegaunts.(60 points)
They were behind the fex and made it to CC with a squad of SM,after that I went for his Pred but they were mowed down.
Heavy Support:Carnifex(153 points)
EC,Scything Talons,Barbed Strangler,Tusked,Mace Tail.
Pretty much did nothing but absorbed hits from lascannons until it could absorb no longer,it did its job well?
Well thats my horrible list I would be grateful for advice and help.
If i may, i'd just like to comment on the warriors. Personally i like the cc warrior over the shooty one. Mine have, EC, AG-I, leaping, RC and ST. I find these do very well against SM and other armies with 3+ saves.
The way you have your warriors kitted out is for both a mix of combat and shooting, whoch is generally not great for individual units. Of course, warrios do not benefit greatly from having two weapons so equiping them RC or ST as well as a gun is good, although if you do that, do it for the entire squad, unlike what you have atm. There is no real point giving them guns if they have leaping and are made for cc, in my opinion anyway. This generall rule for mixing cc and shooting applies across the nid range i.e. fex and tyrant.
Hope this helped and happy hunting.
If you facing this much fire power EC won't help your MCs. I am assuming with 4 lascannon he was very lucky to kill one MC a turn. Try to start you MC behind or in terrain so you get a cover save. You should have been able to stun the dread. Change you 'fex to the standard gunfex: reinforced chitin, ES, VC & BS. Park him in terrain and blast away. As Marvus said don't mix shooty & CC warriors. Think about adding 1 or 2 tyrant guard. Consider adding genestealers arguably the best CC unit in 40K.

-He looks good, with 3 VC shots and 5 attacks on the charge, having him cc and shooty is worth it in smaller games.Originally Posted by Hammer of War?
-Maybe give him a tyrant guard, its 3 extra wounds and they can help out in cc.-I assume the EV is actually EC.Originally Posted by Hammer of War?
-Keep these guys either shooty or combat oriented.
-Drop the death spitters for rending claws and maybe get a few points for toxin sacs.-Very nice, simple but effective.Originally Posted by Hammer of War?-Either shooty or cc oriented.Originally Posted by Hammer of War?
-Shooty fexes usually make thier points back more effectivley than cc fexes.
Not bad for a first list. Just a few tweaks and you should be a little better off. Get a few games under your belt and learn from your mistakes. Good luck.
hey your warriors are just like mine..but give them leaping and AG..it dose good shooty n cc
whered u get the head for EC if it was WYSIWYG?
