pleeeeease give me your thoughts I think its pretty good all-round but I'm unsure about a few things, especially the shooty fex.
Your hive tyrant is way too slow for a close-combat beast. Consider dropping the Tyrant Guard and getting it wings. Also, with the Hive Tyrant's already high intiative, Adrenal Glands (I) probably aren't the best investment. Also... where's the extended carapace? You really need that 2+ save, for the sake of survivability on a hive tyrant.Originally Posted by mmmhmm thats right!
Consider a shooty stompy Tyrant, or a winged CC one... a stompy CC tyrant will be ignored for three turns and then annihilated before he can do anything.
Tyrant Guard are fine. You may consider giving one (or both) lash whips to reduce enemy attacks if you get charged.
The warriors look decent... again, Extended Carapace would be really helpful for them, but not strictly necessary. Normally, I wouldn't take them as a command unit in a 2,000 point game. If you need a second warrior brood, but can't fit it in, consider giving your CC warriors (below) wings and moving them into Fast Attack. Another Tyrant or a Brood Lord would probably serve you better as your second HQ choice.Four of your warriors look good... the dual-scything talon ones would probably be better served with ST/RC as well. Again, extended carapace would be really helpful.Originally Posted by mmmhmm thats right!
I love lictors, but your mileage may vary. If you need points, consider cutting them from the list.
Your carnifex... isn't bad. That's an unusual combination, though. Consider 2x Twin-Linked Devourers for very impressive firepower. Deathspitters don't make the most of the Carnifex's high number of attacks (as they only fire once, reguardless).Your unupgraded genestealers look fine.Originally Posted by mmmhmm thats right!
Good brood size for your Termagants.
You'll probably find that a brood size of 24 Hormagaunts is very unwieldy and hard to keep in cover. Consider dropping the rippers (which are very slow, for troops) and getting two groups of 14-20 Hormagaunts.Zoanthropes... please consider getting them both Synapse. Catalyst generally isn't worth the points (and I'm not fond of Warp Blast, either). I prefer using Zoanthropes as support for gaunts with synapse/catalyst or synapse/psychic scream (to make outnumbering / CC more likely to decimate a fleeing opponant).Originally Posted by mmmhmm thats right!
Get both of your Biovores Toxin and Bio-Acid mines. Biovores fire at the same target, and although Bio-Acid works pretty well against troops, toxin will probably be wasted against any non-open topped vehicle. If you can't spare the points, consider going dual Bio-Acid.
Your Carnifex... is very expensive for something that will take forever to get into combat. When your opponants hear you're fielding a CC Carnifex, it will most likely be killed just before it reaches close combat. Consider a Venom Cannon / Barbed Strangler combo, or at the very least... get this brute Adrenal Glands (WS) and Toxin Sacks too (to maximize his CC potential). You may also want to consider Toxic Miasma, in case you're fighting those pesky Grey Knights.
If you really want a CC 'Fex, consider buying one as an elite and replacing your CC Heavy Support with a ranged attacker.
Just some general tips. Your mileage may vary. You're not using any fast attack choices, so I'd definitely consider some winged warriors with devourers/ST or RC/ST, a Ravener brood for flanking / potentially deep striking (to take advantage of the Lictor's pheremone trail), or some Gargoyles for tank-hunting / early assault and LOS-blocking / deep striking.
In general, your list looks good. With some tweaking, it could be totally awesome.
