    750 Ulthwe v Tyranids

    I am playing a 750 pt. game against 'nids tomorrow, before anyone asks i am allowed only:
    1 HQ
    1 Elite
    1 FA
    0 HS
    6 Troops

    this is my list:

    Seer Council
    2x Augment, embolden, mind war, fortune, 5 x pistols + CCW's -155
    10 + 2 black guardians, starcannon -130
    10 + 2 black guardians, starcannon -130
    10 guardians -80
    10 guardisns -80
    8 howling banshees + exarch w/ executioner and acrobatic.
    OR 8 Scorpions + exarch w/ stealth, but take off a CCW from the seers.
    OK, this guy uses a $hitload of hormagaunts and biovores. the plan is to string out the meatshield squads, then countercharge w/ banshees or scorpions. gun down synapse w/ starcannons along the way.

    Scorpions are the way to go, since you said there will be lots of little weasels in the nid force, you need all the defence power you can get. Scorpion are perfect for holding their line vs gaunts. Banshees are nice only vs heavy armor foe like nid warriors, lictors and guards. What is a good idea is just charging with the scorpions and storm guardians and keeping the gaunds busy while the guardian will tear em up from distance. Use the weapon platforms to take down the biovores

    Im a little bit confused on your Seer Council. Can you make it a little more clear please?

    10 guardians -80
    10 guardisns -80
    I'd try and get these some heavy/special weapons but I don't know where you would get the poitns. I would use these as a unit to counter his units. On your turn run the 20 gurdians into range before he charges and shoot him to bits with that 40 shots with those 2 squads. That should take a out a considerable chunk of his units.

    8 howling banshees + exarch w/ executioner and acrobatic.
    OR 8 Scorpions + exarch w/ stealth, but take off a CCW from the seers.
    Definatly take the Scorps. They are a great counter charge unit - especially against hoard armies like nids'. Consider puting a Farseer in the Scorp squad with Fortune.

    thanks guys, we played secure & control and it was a draw: one counter each. he played a weird list w/ 2x sqads of 8 'stealers, 3 lictors, 8 gargoyles anda HT.
