    [800pt] 'nids Campaign list

in the campaign units are set when bought with won army-points, morphs and weapons are changable, set 'armory' army-point pool...

This one is vs Dark Eldar... any suggestions?
I'm new to the game so I don't know 'nids too well, and the other armies even worse

    HQ:
Tyrant (201) RC, ST, Wings, AG (I+WS), WarpF, WarpBl

    TROOPS:
    Termies x12 (72)
    Termies x12 (72)
    Hormies x8 (96) AG (I+WS)
    Hormies x8 (96) AG (I+WS)

    ELITE:
Warriors (120) RC, ST, leaping, AG (i+WS), EC

    HEAVY:
Carni (143) VC, TnL Dev, ES, SB

what I know the Dark E. player will field: Talos, 3 Raiders with 2 with warriors, 1 with wyches.
Carni would be against raiders, maybe talos. hormies/gaunts vs wyches i think, and Tyr vs warriors (listed are ofcourse primary targets... later on ... trying to keep most units in CC so warriors have little targets...

as specified, the units have to stay morphes can be changed... good for campaign? working agains: Dark Eldar, Ultra Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, Thousnand Sons and Necron. Armies I should cherry pick for attacks? (field of hexes, hex to hex attacks, hex gives extra army points, rest of campaign is simple, not many rules)

    HQ:
Tyrant (201) RC, ST, Wings, AG (I+WS), WarpF, WarpBl The Hive tyrant for me is too heavily upgraded for an 800 pt fight. Take off the Warp Blast and specialise in combat.

    TROOPS:
    Termies x12 (72)
    Termies x12 (72)
Hormies x8 (96) What upgrades do your gaunts have?
    Hormies x8 (96)

Depending on how many wyches they use hormies and termies could take them but if they have alot (10+) it could spell trouble for small gaunts squads as wyches get lots of attacks in an assault. Plus they have a 4+ invulnerable in combat so shoot them.

he's gonna be carrying 1 unit of wyches, I don't know how many that fits, but I guess it's about 10 or so, was trying to use the warp blast to have some shooting vs talos with focused bolt and maybe wyches with blast-shot. Or better of putting a BS on my fex instead?

It would be better to give the BS to the fex that is made for shootin.

A Hive tyant would put up a fight vs a talos but with D6 attacks it would be difficult to estimate how much damage it could do back at you. However your warriors have 4 attacks on the charge and rending claws so if the squad is intact throw those against it as In5 will mean you go first.

You may not be able to change this but in this case against an army based on numbers a barbed strangler may suit the carnifex better. Because their tanks aren't well armoured and the rule for large blasts on tanks should allow them to be destroyed reasonably easily.

Wyches with wych weapons can be trouble in large numbers even against monstrous creatures as they halve your WS if your unmoded Str is less than 6

    Hey

    First this is illegal

    >HQ:
    >Tyrant (201) RC, ST, Wings, AG (I+WS), WarpF, WarpBl
Can only add 1 psychic power. I would swap out the RC and ST (theres a good post on what RC does for Montrous creatures and the conclusion is it should be taken for negative points) for Devourers 12 str 4 shots against the witches etc your sitting pretty not to mention if you fire these before you charge you will probably kill up to 4x more troops than just charging with ST ST. Keep the warpfield as you lack synapse and need the protection this entitles

    >Termies x12 (72)
    >Termies x12 (72)

think about spine fists it lets u get 14x termies per squad. More for basically the same characteristics as the fleshborer the more wounds you can do the better

    >It would be better to give the BS to the fex that is made for shootin.
Fully agree with giving the BS to the carni. The VC and the devourer should be used against two different things (VC tanks Heavy Infantry, Devourer infantry(including heavy) and skimmers) but the most important thing is the ranges 18" and 36" you might find that you wanna hit something with the VC but you also can't shoot at it with the devourer because of range.

    >Hormies x8 (96)
12 pts a gaunt i'm gonna guess you went I and WS consider flesh hooks as you might fight alot of things in cover and therefore half your hormies might be wiped out before they get to fight back the Improved I is a waste if fighting someone in cover. PLus the hooks allow you to move through any terrain no penalties.

otherwise looks great your on to a winner

this would also work well vs other armies?

    > I don't have enough models to make em spinegaunts... kinda sad but more are on the way some time

The Devil Tyrant as it has become affectionately known is a thorn in the back off all armies taking out tanks and dreadnoughts in close combat while decimating troops with the twin devourers before charging
    Maths:
    2.6667 marines dead before charge
    6.5 IG's dead before charge
While or course the marines with there 3+ save are more immune to the devastating effects of the Devil Tyrant it still causes mass wounds and takes out those annoying skimmers.

    Termies are an affordable loss

I would replace hormies with GS for a more balanced army. Hormies are great vs IG but against marines ur looking at a tough fight. GS can be used to destroy tanks on the IG or wipe out Squads in double time while against marines no squad can stand up to the rend rend. Providing of course you use your gaunts to protect them.

The Fex is perfect against all armies (though against necron he might have a hard time vs the rending fire power)

too bad I'm stuck with my army-patrol list I made way back when I had no stealers, the warriors, 16 gaunts and 16 hormies have to stay , but I'll sure get stealers as soon as I have more armypoints from winning battles

ok I just heard the dude will be bringing 11 AP2 str 8 shots...

since other than his AP2 all his weapons have low AP, wouldn't it be best for me to drop the warp shield thing and swap those 35 points for other stuff?

need fast relply, I'm playing DE tomorow
