Well if you had some hormies i would suggest having them on the list too.....even with the extra BS Fexes and Zoanies really can't be counted on for much fire support as the Zoanies only get one shot .... and each have to roll a four or higher. I would probably get some hormies and drop a fex but that is just me.
your opponent will most likely make your stealers priority one target and your tyrant priority 2.......fexes and zoanies are so slow they aren't really a threat.
Bio plasma can leave you high and dry, because it generally goes first if it causes a wound they can remove the model in base to base contact with your Hive tyrant. this effectively stops the combat for that round till they pile in. This has advantages (your in combat for his round of shooting) and disadvantages (it takes you an extra round to kill a unit which means that it could be 3 rounds of CC instead of 2). Also i'd get rid of the rippers i can't think of one occasion where they would be usefull. Miasma is a useful talent on a CC Tyrant any weapon skill 3 opponents now hit on a 5+. you need the ripper if you do this to complere your 2 troop choices. (I'd normally say hormagaunts but you don't have any )for 1000 points you probably don't need all the defensive upgrades. Maybe lose the toughness and wound or lose the Save and toughness either way at 1000 pts you have enough T6 monstrous creatures (12 wounds), unless someone brings mass lascannons your gonna live till turn 6.Originally Posted by thrasson007You don't need that much synapse, sure it might be nice, but what about psychic scream? -3 LD when you get close. not enough models. plain and simple. course this is IMO, but drop the carnifex to lower cost, and get more stealers (hormies would be better, but you seem hell-bent on not using them).
having a group of three zoanthropes all with synapse, and nothing else? surely you jest. that's enough to absorb an entire round of enemy fire and laugh. and while that ability may be nice, it's also extravagant. you don't need them that way, if I were you I'd drop the synapse from all but one, give the other two psycic scream and warp blast. that way if they kill one you can lose one of the others, and then still have another just like it and keep your synapse.
Good point....... Why have all that synapse when you really don't have the troops that require it?
and to reiterate my point you really need more troop choices.....you're stealers will be shot to pieces on your opponents first turn
i would suggest losing bio plasma two zoans the extra wound on ur carnifexes aswell as there spinebanks. that would get ya 150 points to play with!
bio plasma doesnt even count as a monstorous creature hit.
the extra wound shouldnt be too neccessary at this point level if the rest of your army is doing its job.
spine banks to me arent worth it, yeah yeah theyre cheap etc i just dont like it, its not what ur carnis should be doing.
the zoans are just not neccesary with that ld 10, and generaly they are good for an anti tank shot or two a game, shouldnt be too neccesary if you get close fast, i mean ya got a flying tyrant!
with that 150 you could/should consider a lictor very defineately consider 1, add extended carapace to those stealers and some more.
your carnifexs are gunna get your tyrant shot!
ill just agree with the others about havin a second fex in here.
