Welcome to Librarium Online!
hell, bugs are cooler than the other armies ive looked at. so i thought i might as well knock up a list.
but as ever, im trying to be different. so its based around speed, and plenty of the meduim sized, two wound critters.
Hive tyrant- 154pts
-Bonesword, lash whip, scything talons
-acid maw, toxic miasma
*cheap and cheerful. helps out other units with the miasma and bonesword*
6 Genestealers- 126pts
*what can i say. hes cool, and fast. panic factor for the enemy. debating wether to give the stealers carapace or scything talons here. votes appreciated.*
5 warriors- 192pts
-3 with scything talons, rending claws, 2 with lashwhips, rending claws
-Adrenal glands (both), extended carapace
*hmmm. had 2 points to burn, and lashwhips have some cool effects. can be used to help other units, maybe 'snipe' the sergent. dont know about their practicality, but hey.*
2 lictors- 160pts
*mmm, contraversial. i like. in between the broodlord and these, no cover is safe. at least thats what i want the enemy to think.*
16 termagaunts- 128pts
*well, gotta speed em up somehow. i dislike spinegaunts, and i think fleshborers are better for one point extra anyway.*
16 hypergaunts- 208pts
-adrenal glands (I)
*in a fast army there isnt much place for units that just tie the enemy up. i want him dead, so that means the extra points are needed to turn the hormagaunst into killing machines. they should hit combat at the same time as my termagaunts*
Fast attack- 458pts
8 gargoyles- 96pts
*anoyance factor mostly. and maybe bioplasma some AV10. i consider these more as troops than fast attack in this army, but hey. im rambling*
4 warriors- 201pts
-enhanced senses, toxin sacs
-2 with TL fleshborer, 1 with TL deathspitter, 1 with venom cannon and lash whip.
*haha, shooty winged warriors. seriously contraversial. these guys want to take out high toughness/ low AV targets. with the wings they can hit the side or rear armour of tanks, and then let off 5 TL str 6 shots and 2 str 7 shots. expensive, but they can pcik their targets with the wings, and they should be hitting expensive stuff too.*
3 warriors- 161pts
-enhanced senses, toxin sacs
-2 with TL devourer, 1 with TL barbed strangler
*yes, more shooty winged warriors. this time with improved anti infantry flavour. also serve as last minuite objective claimers (considering that the whole army will be rushing towards the enemy most of the time, i need something to jump back and grab my own table qutar or whatever*
i know the winged warriors are expensive, but to leave them on foot inst an option. then theyd be left in the dust by the rest of my army, and by the time the devourers do anything, the enemy lines will be overrun.
also, the army is light on troops, but i dont care that much. its a lot more interesting to play than a zilla list for me, and a swarm list would be just as boring. besides, the sheer speed of this army might even make up for my lack of *effecient* units. when everything should be in the enemies army by turn 2, save the leaping warriors, you know its gonna be interesting.
so, i know what i want. but the reason im posting it here, is so that you guys can give it a run down on how it should perform. so rather than improvements, unless its fairly minor or it fits the theme, id like to see you guys give your overall opinion. thanks for reading.
you should really consider putting toxin sacs and warp field on your hive tyrant, if you don't he will most likley die first turn, as he is the only monsterous creature in your army.
most people go with this,
x2 scything tallons
not quite as cheep as yours but it will do more damage and it will last longer
you dont have a whole ton of creatures so you will more then likley get boged down in some areas, although you will not have any problems with synapse.
yes the army is fast but the only thing that is really going to keep up with the tyrant is the winged warriors, as the rest of the army is either moving 6" or is fleeting up to 6". so it's not a sure thing that he will have much backup in combat for a turn.
i think you should consider ravners as it fits your theme. they are amazing in combat and can pack a bunch of firepower. the only thing with them theough is you have to keep them in cover with their 5+ save.
Definitely have to agree with raging fire eye, the tyrant will be dead quickly. The tendancy around here is to either do the 2xST Winged Tyrant, like raging fire eye suggested or the Devil-Tyrant with +1BS, 2xTL-Dev, Wings, Warp Field. Either way, put at least Warp Field on it if you are using the configuration.Originally Posted by wakopandaDefinitely EC. Talons are alright, but I just don't see them worth the cost, I mean they already have an Initative thats faster then the majority of other models and with rendering they tend to make mincemeat quite well. If you just need to spend the points then maybe.Originally Posted by wakopanda
Past that I like the list, tell us later how the warriors preformed for the list, if you get to try it.
The truest form of tactical prowess is to make your enemy smile happily as they walk into your trap.
Hug a genestealer today!
point taken. consider acid maw swapped out for toxin sacs, although theres no way i can bring myself to muster the points for a warp field. ill play it without for a while and see how it does.Originally Posted by raging fire eyetrue, but its not like i have to throw the tyrant in on its own, is it. i can hold him back for a turn behind some terrain (as the only MC the tyrant is getting the prime cut of large LOS blocking terrain. he will be a lascannon magnet after all). the wings mean that i dont have to move at max distance all the time.you dont have a whole ton of creatures so you will more then likley get boged down in some areas, although you will not have any problems with synapse.

use the 16 points and find another 19 and give the tyrant warp field. there are a lot of ap 3 weapons out there so you almost need it! hiding behind cover wont save you forever.
now that i think about it the only army i haven't played is orks. silly greenskins.
