Welcome to Librarium Online!
i used this army a while ago agianst a lost and the damned army where the result was a narrow victory for me (curse that defiler). any way here is the list and i would like to see wht comments you are going to make good or bad i want to know.
hive tyrant, 2 scything talons, toxin sacs, adrenal glands (ws), implant attack, warp blast 139pts
2 tyrant guards, sycthing talons, rending claws 90pts
5 warriors, scything talons, deathspitter, enhanced senses 140pts
15 hormaguants 150pts
15 termigaunts, fleshborers 105pts
8 genestealers 128pts
carnifex, 2 scything talons, adrenal glands (ws & i), scyth tail, spine back 126pts
army total 956pts
lets see what you can do to make it a better army, bearing in mind i would like to keep it balanced.
No wings? No Extended Carapace? Drop the scything talons, implant attack (implant attack is not cost effective), and get this guy a Venom Cannon, Barbed Strangler, Enhanced Senses, and Extended Carapace... then laugh as you lay down a hail of fire. Drop Warp Blast for Psychic Scream to capitalize on the barbed strangler's ability to pin.Originally Posted by gralph!?!Trade out the scything talons for lash whips on at least one of these guys. It's a free trade, so taking lash whips denies the enemy their extra attacks on a charge.Originally Posted by gralph!?!Get one of these warriors a Venom Cannon, and trade out the ScyTals for Rending Claws.Originally Posted by gralph!?!Yup, he's a Lictor. Remember to roll for his instinctive behaviour tests, and throw him against enemy heavy weapons.Originally Posted by gralph!?!Good squad size... I never field a brood with more that 16 'gaunts except under very special circumstances.Originally Posted by gralph!?!Spinegaunts are cheaper, have the same range, and 'hit' more reliably, but don't wound as well. Still, a decent tar-pit unit.Originally Posted by gralph!?!Get these guys extended carapace, or try to find the points for a second brood of them. Right now, they're too easily killed by bolters / basic troops.Originally Posted by gralph!?!Close Combat carnifexes are a distraction, a fire magnet, so it's good that you kept this one relatively cheap. Still, I suggest the standard gunfex (Venom Cannon, Barbed Strangler, Enhanced Senses, Extended Carapace / Reinforced Chitin). Speaking of which... get this guy Extended Carapace, and drop the Scythe Tail. Tail Weapons are unreliable, so only spend points on them if you've got some to spare.Originally Posted by gralph!?!
I'd also consider trading spinebanks for flesh hooks. Flesh hooks provide the frag ability, AND let the carnifex move through walls (and other impassable terrain). If you want a CC 'Fex, get him Thornback instead to really increase the "shock and awe" value. What's your definition of "balanced"? Is it "something I'd like to play" or "something my friends won't whine about"? If it's the first, power to you. If it's the second... find some friends who aren't afraid of a challenge. Everything army list is beatable, some are harder to beat than others, but that doesn't make them "unbalanced".Originally Posted by gralph!?!
i think u should give the stealers extended carapace amd drop the tormafounts for a few raveners or really anything else. I have never accomplished anything besides taking a board corner with tormegaunts.
Laws are like sausages, it is better not to see them being made.
