hi all, here's my latest evolution of the swarm:
Broodlord - toxin sacs, extended carpace - 90
11 Genestealers - Extended carpace - 220
3 Warriors - ES (bs), toxin sacs, scything talons, 2xdeathspitter, 1xvenom cannon - 109
8 spinegaunts - 40
8 Termagaunts - without number - 72
16 Hormagaunts - toxin sacs - 192
3 ripper swarms - leaping, extended carpace - 45
zoanthrope - warp blast, synapse creature - 65
Biovore - bio acid spores - 55
carnifex - spine banks, symbiote rippers (leftover points ), 2x twin linked devourer - 112
i usually play against trait sm or death guard, the last couple of games i've wiped the floor with the trait sm. death guard it's about 50/50
i'm currently using all the models at my disposal...
what i'm thinking about is
i) wether to change one of the biovore/zoathrope for another biovore/zoanthrope
ii) wether the extended carpact on the ripper is needed
iii) wether the genestealers retinue is too big - it usually suffers about 3-4 casualties before combat. but rolling all those rending attacks is really fun !!!
anywho, let me know what you think
I agree its too large. if they can see the retinue you must deploy 18" away. Because you don't have FoF with the retinue due to the broodlord thats a turn 3 assault by taking 6 out of the retinue and giving those 6 scuttle you fill have the same number of genestealers reaching the enemy on turn 2 guarenteed.Originally Posted by kensei81Without number is tactically hard to justify. Generally when they come back they aren't fast enough to make it into battle again.Originally Posted by kensei81consider losing the carapace adding toxin sacs, +1BS and spinefists and you have 7 attacks on the charge at S4 with 3 wounds for only 20 points. 12" charge thats jsut plain nasty. Marines are scared in there grave...Originally Posted by kensei81Personally I would swap for a zoanthrope because when i need something killed urgently by a Zoanthrope generally the first one always fails....Originally Posted by kensei81The ballistic skill is more important than the spinebanks get that first then go your spinebanks. Rippers are fun to model thats about all there good for on MC'sOriginally Posted by kensei81
Overall a nice list

Ya probally too large of a retinue as Carnifexus said so probally drop em down to 5 or 6 then the rest can be put in as a troop choice.
Don't use WoN as it makes them very expensive and they usually don't make it back into the feild(although if the enemy comes towards you that may make this a different story..).
Carnifexus the only problem I see in getting them that expensive is if the get targeted by templates or str 6 or more weapons they die like flies and you lose a lot of points fast at least thats what happened to me.
Yes go for the extra zoan as bivores aren't as good as they used to be.
Now on the carnifex lose the ripper as the point can be spent elswhere(really won't ever help so don't bother even filling in points with it.) and you must get ES as they help a ton on your carnifexs aim.
The list is pretty good for what you have but ya might want another gaunt box to give your other gaunts a bit more bulk and more hormagaunts is always nice too  .
Is it me or does any other necron player get annoyed when they see people saying "Necrons eat souls". How is that even possible as souls are part of the warp and necrons want nothing to do with it? Eh probaly me just me being picky.
