What do you think guys?
I'm planning to have the HQ, Wyches, Warrior Raider Squad, Talos and Warp Beasts in the Portal;
Meanwhile the Ravagers do what they do best, and lay down some serious hurt, the reavers generally manuvoure, distract, and take out weaker units
The Snipes will bust tank or anything gribbly, before starting on the heavier troops
The WWP carrying units will run up each flank, using cover as their shield, and deploy on the Second / Third Turn (hopefully on both Flanks) whereapon my raiders will zoom out and generally unleash a heavy combat punch on whatever is generally annoying me most.
The Wyches and Beast will try to work in Concert (It's fluffy, and I need a general Plan) While the Archons unit will generally devestate termies, MEQ, and anything else foolhardy enough to get close.
I'm hoping for a seamless run into combat with all my combat units, except perhaps the talos, which will move forward to engage anything I want to hold up / destroy slowly.
minimalism is the key.
Personally I dont like the animus, half the armies you will face have some sort of immunity to falling back from combat, and against the other half it wont work until you've been in combat for a while anyway. Also hugely expensive, when I run incubi it's usually with a dracon with minimal wargear to keep costs down. If you like it stick with it thoughOriginally Posted by AsmodeanGood WWP carriers, very similar to the ones I typically use. Not much to say about sniper squads. I'd probobly go with an agoniser for the sybarite, costs less, and is more flexible, plus you dont have the drugs wyches have for the chance at +1 S. Also plasma's for the sybarite.Originally Posted by AsmodeanPlasma's for atleast the succubus, maybe for the whole squad, only 10 points for a much more effective squad. If you want to use a punisher put it here, Wyches are most effective against enemy CC troops and few of them are above T4, plus you get the slight chance of +1 S for a S5 power weapon. Solid choice in beasts, good supporting CC unit.Originally Posted by AsmodeanI tend to only use Reavers as tank hunters and with the points you've spent here you could have 2 x 3 man squads with 2 blasters each. If you like them for CC thats ok but make sure to give a T-helm to the succubus, don't expect them to do much on their own though.Originally Posted by AsmodeanGood choices, I like night shields on dissie ravagers but not a must by any stretch.Originally Posted by Asmodean
The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed
-more Agonizers, you'll have a hard time against T7+ critters (you can't always shoot them) ie the Tyranid all MC list comes to mind.
-Wytches should get Plasma grenades.
-I would keep the agonizer on the wytches even if it invalidates the +1S drug roll, the other wytches still greatly benefit from it. And it might only be a slight chance but I've had an agonizer kill a tank ftw on more than one occasion.
-I too would probably choose the 2x3 reaver squad option. I agree with Kwikwag (check the other recent army list posts) that a 6 bike + Succubus + Archon on a bike is the only way to send these guys into CC. If you keep the Reaver succubus give her the Thelm. I'd also drop the TRack and give it to the Archon.
I would actually drop the Sybarite onthe Raider and use it as a Gunboat. You already have HQ + Wytches + Beasts + Talos, all CC monsters. The Gunboat can soften up targets before assault and staying within 6" of any retreating troops after assault.
All in all though it's a pretty decent list. Only a few minor point tweaks, nothing structurally unsound. Although I would caution against throwing your HQ at 'anything that gets close'. A Terminator Chaplain leading Lightning Claw assault terminators will rip it apart. (reroll misses, reroll wounds), several things in the Chaos list will rip it apart, etc. Honestly it's really only an anti-troop unit.

I forgot to put the T-helm on my succubus!
The points about the Amnius are good, I'll need to review that choice...
The Reavers were intended as Anti Devestators / anything gribbly, hidden and usually pretty weak in combat, with a few mild shooting capabilities and the ability to follow falling back squads off the board.
I felt that using them as tank hunters would be slightly overkill, as I would have sufficient Dark Lance to be able to down anything but armoured company...
I put the Trophy rack on my succubus, simply because I thought of a cool conversion idea, and because the reavers are usually flying solo, and could use a little bit of a leadership boost, It's only a few points in the scheme of things, really...
The Point about the expensiveness of the Incubi squad is pertinent and a matter of concern and thought.
The Archon could easily be demoted to a Dracon, and the unit would still be more or less effective....
However, with the Archon it is a unit fully capable of taking down even lightning clawed assault marines, since they strike first, and would average about 7.6666 deaths before they got to attack back.
The HQ is admittedly expensive, but I pose the question, what would I spend the 50 or so points I would save reducing it on?
Perhaps I could Flesh out he rest of the list a little more with other options?
I went for mainly punishers in my list, because I mainly vs Marines, Tau, Tyrannids and Chaos.
quite a bit of MEQ or less, and whatever the punishers can't take, the sheer amount of DL and dissie certainly can...
The Gunboat Idea could certainly free up a few points, but I find that warriors hovering out of combat in a raider generally have a longer life expectancy in combat, except against tyrannids, and in combat, they are generally more effective against MEQ, in fact, against MEQ and tau, I find them only just less effective than wyches, especially when you consider that it is the sybarite who usually does all the killing, as is the same with the wyches with the succubus (especially against MEQ)
If there is a monsterous creature running rampant, and it's critical it's contained quickly, I would throw my wyches at it, and count on their superior save and agoniser to wear it down slowly, they generally don't get an invulnerable save and they tend to only get 3 or so wounds... so the combat is won by my turn again, as the succubus tends to do about 2 or so wounds on the assault and one or two the following turn, hence the agoniser
Plasma 'nades are a good idea though
What do you think of reducing my HQ, and what could I spend the spare points on?
minimalism is the key.
