i dont get it. i fought a 3hundred pnt game against tyranids and kicked their ass. My dark farseer (Dracon equipped with an agoniser and shadow field) ripped apart a brood lord in cc.) My 2 warrior squads equipped with 1 splinter cannon each squad and a shredder for one squad and a blaster for the other dropped 4 out of the 6 genesteales that attempted to rush me. after that good round of shooting i got into close combat with some termagants. i held them off long enough for my dark farseer to do her thing. the mission objective was the start of a campaign and the castle in the center was up for grabs. so i took it and won. i fought off some eldar next but they were easy because the kid loaded up on banshees and scorpions. i just shot him to ob;ivion without losing a man. what can i do though to improve for higher pnt games? are scourges worth it? wut about wyches or a tallos? somebody help me!!!
first of all
u need mobility
that means before u hit 1000 pts
1 jetbike squad
2 raider sqauds w/ wychs or troops
at higher points youll need to charge up to them, the above unit u will need
while the ravager is debatable the otehrs are not
Haruko put that thing down
"its the pirate king"
DARK ELDAR 1500
We are not your worst nightmare--- We are your EVERY nightmare
Is it really too hard to just type 'you' instead of 'u'? Honestly, speak propper english.
Firstly get another box of warriors and 1-2 blisters of dark lances, and then get a wych squad in a raider I guess. Then you can expand those units and just get more of them since they are the best units in the army (warriors and wyches) or you can experiment with some of the other good ones such as ravagers, reavers and such. Scourges are typically not worth it but they pull their weight against guardsmen, guardians, other dark eldar, tyranids, orks, black templars and khorne, against everything else they will be apalling.

I like the advice everyone has given thus far, your dracon is a lord not a Dark Farseer - however, I think technically he just might be one but without the psychics.
Wyches are worth it definitely even though your shooting seems to be doing the trick. They would make a great squad for your lord to follow - one of the best CC units in the game.
Talos is worth it but it is slow and is better coming out of the warp. It could be sent to an objective and would pose a major hurdle for your opponent to wrestle with. Chews marines like cornflakes.
Dont know about scourges - you will have to play test them for yourself. There has been an increase in using them however so perhaps someone here can fill you in.
Reavers is another personal play style - some like them and I use them in every battle almost but against the nids I would be shy.
Experience is the best teacher - you need to try them out and then ask us about the ones you like.
Congrats on the win!
Or one could have a psyker lord with precognetive powers that count as those granted by a nightmare doll... I think about using this approach for a drachite that I am about to convert for my wyche cult. Dark psykers are just too cool.Originally Posted by KwiKwag
As for the scourges, I find that the best setup for them is:
+ 4x Splinter Cannons
+ Splinter Pistol
Total: 234 points.
Keep the squad out of LoS, and only enter an enemys LoS when you are about to blow him to shreds with your assault weapons. The squad is actually very effective versus enemies such as eldar, nids and other dark eldar, as they all have relatively low saves and MC backup. However, I would choose a ravager over a scourge squad for effectiveness any day, and the same thing goes for a talos. In the DE heavy support section, the ravager is simply the best thing.
If you want a challenge iin higher point games, try a WWP list. The portals opens a lot of new oppotunities for you, and suddenly makes units such as Talos and footslogging warriors much greater. Have fun!
PS: Tenozuma, is that a SFII reference in your user title? Heretic! Dhalsim for the win!
