    750 Mech Tau

My new and improved list (hopefully)

    HQ
    Shas'o 122pts
    -Plasma Rifle
    -Fusion Blaster
    -Multi-tracker
    -Stimulant injector

    Elite
    XV8 Crisis 62
    -Plasma Rifle
    -Fusion Blaster
    -Multi-tracker

    Troop
    Fire Warriors x12
    -Shas'ui

    Fire Warriors x12
    -Shas'ui
    -Devilfish
    +Decoy Launchers

    Heavy
    Hammerhead
    -Rail Gun
    -Two Burst cannons
    -Multi-tracker
    -Decoy Launchers

    Total: 756

I think 6 points over might be a bit too much in this point game. I have nothing worth 5 points though. and if i take out something like..a shas'ui, i'll end up being 4 points under.

If you hit this guy down to a Shas'el with a Targeting Array and a Hard-Wired Multitracker (just kills the +1 Wound is all), then your points will be all good without depleting your overall effectiveness. I like the loadout on him.

    Elite
    XV8 Crisis 62
    -Plasma Rifle
    -Fusion Blaster
    -Multi-tracker
I like the setup, but I would look into getting a Targeting Array on there.. won't happen with the points, I don't think, but it would make him more effective.

    Hm. I like it.

    Very good.

Under is usually better than over unless your opponents say you can be over a certain limit. Check out what I said for your HQ, it should solve your problem if you go through with it.

Other than that, looks like a very capable 750 point list, able to handle MEQ and hordes alike, I believe. Looks pretty nice.

Thank. Hopefully I can act upon it.

I keep forgetting about the Shas'el with targeting array...That should solve it.

Edit: Whoops i forgot a unit in my list. It's supposed to be two crisis suits in the elite.

Doing the math, to give the elites targetting array and lowering my shas'o to 'el and taking off the stimulant injector would bring my list up to 761, so I think i'm gonna have to leave it as is....unless in that case i take out a shas'ui possibly from the static group, making it 751. Would that work?

I would take the shas'ui off of the Mech unit as they spend most of their time in the DF anyway, and they should be shooting at close units without taking much return fire. Depending on your opponent, they might make you drop that 1 point to get to 750 (I would).

I disagree, as a Mech player - the Shas'ui has been helpful many, many times.

However, as you do need to drop 6 points, then I would recommend the drop from the Shas'O to Shas'el with Targeting Array - this will give you enough points to have a legal list.

Leave everything else as-is, and make the 'O an 'El with TA, and you should be set, without having to ditch anything else in the list (keeping most of the effectiveness of your list, too).

Personnaly, I think that one of the elite suits could be changed to a Fireknife and not lose much anti-MEQ but lending more versatility.

Well, as the HQ change has been suggested two other times, and not acted upon, I thought we should come up with another option for the army.

But Lost Nemesis is completely right, and the HQ change is, by far, the best choice to pick up some points.

That made me think he was going to go through with it?

Mike, I find myself disagreeing with you - sure, there's more versatility, but for what? The Crisis Suits, in my opinion, are good for anti-MEQ while there is plenty of anti-horde and light vehicle in the Fire Warriors and the Hammerhead.

More medium-ish vehicles won't be too hard to deal with, either, as a 750 point game won't be on a giant board, so at least one Crisis Suit should be able to get in range.

And I think that's a great playstyle, however, are two squads of Fire Warriors, a Hammerhead, a Devilfish, and backup close-range Crisis Suits really depending on one thing?

Just playing with you, man. I see what you mean, but I would rather have more anti-MEQ in there, and leave the light vehicles/infantry killing to the rest of the army.
