Welcome to Librarium Online!
i figgered id post my 1k list up
this isnt a tourney list or anything, i havent been seriously into 40k for very long, just picked it up with a new seriousness in the past month
Total Points = 998
1 Tyrant Guard to soak up shots for tyrant [will likely add another later when i move up to 1500 points]
Tyrant + Guard = 219 points
1 brood of three Warriors
-Spinefists [that may sound stupid, but ill explain my logic later]
Brood = 78 points
1 brood of three Warriors
-1 with 2x Scything Talons
-1 with Scything Talons and Deathspitter
-1 with Scything Talons and Spinefists
--Adrenal glands [WS]
Brood = 111 points
1 Brood of 20 Termagaunts
Brood = 120 points
1 Brood of 11 hormagaunts
Brood - 110 points
1 Brood of 11 Genestealers
Brood = 65 points
-- Adrenal Glands [WS]
Brood = 119 points
HQ - anti tank and when there are no tanks, anti infantry duty. the tyrant is pretty slf explanatory as to tis role and whatnot
Elites- one brood of shooty warriors, to plant in cover, gaining a better save, and moving up when necessary, but always sitting in cover at the end of turn if possible for improved save
the spine fists are on these because they are TL
if an enemy gets within 12 inches, it will be imperative that i hit, considering that these warriors are not decked out for CC at all
one brood of CC warriors, to move up with the swarm to give support to gaunts and such and engage any problem units with gaunt/stealer support and take care of it with ease
id like to put rending claws on these warriors, but im out of those, lol
i have those ranged weapons to wear down targets before they get into CC with them
i made sure there was not enough firepower to cause the unit to fall back or anytihng like that
Troops- termies are for tying up and blocking fire lanes to say, staelers or warriors and such
stealers are likely to be teamed up with the CC warriors, providing the removal of problem units
hormies are for tying up mainly. they can tangle with an independant character for a turn or two, hopefully weaken him until stronger things like my fex or CC warriors can get at him
i know i dont have many troops, but that seriously all the models i have
im going to add more stealers as i moe up in points, i like stealers because no synapse is required for them to be effective
Heavy Support -the thrope is for synapse and anti-tank/character support. its pretty simple
fex - CC monster, but not so expensive that losing him will create a big loss to my army, as there are still plenty o oter heavy hitters
where do i go from here?
i know i need a flying tyrant for some fast synapse support, ill get that later, and obviously more troops, but what else should i look at acquiring?
perhaps more warriors, to make either more or bigger broods?
sorry it was kinda longwinded, more power to you if you read it all
Well from your current situation I can say your army isn't too bad though you definatly need to give your CC warriors rending (so you may have to confiscate a couple from you genestealers) as that is the main way these guys kill.
Your HT probally doesn't need EC with the guard around so I would drop it and use them elsewhere.
Well I still would rather have ST on my shooty warriors as they probally will need all the attacks they can get if they are locked in CC (they need to at least try to kill the enemy so they can get back shooting). Plus the spinefists are just to short of ranged to really help them out much.
On your CC warriors deffinatly go for AG(I) as you need these guys striking first as their low model count can really hurt them.
You should add in one more genestealer and split them into two squads of 6 so they don't die from one volley of the enemies fire. Probally should add one more hormagaunt too and I like the termagaunts as they are.
Good zoanthrope though I'm not too sure if you really need the CC fex (probally should go for a dakka fex (2 TL dev) though if you really want a CC fex yours is fine as it is though you should add in some leaping rippers so that they can catch the enemy for him.
Is it me or does any other necron player get annoyed when they see people saying "Necrons eat souls". How is that even possible as souls are part of the warp and necrons want nothing to do with it? Eh probaly me just me being picky.

what happens when the guard is gone? the 2+ save on the tyrant will help a lot
sinec this question is relted to my situation: if two tyranid warriors in a brood of three have rending, does that mean that the attacks from the whole brood count as rending?
hm . . ok, ill ad I to warriors, and one mroe stealer
Nids - 1150 pts (I'm poor, dont laugh)
im too 'fexy
im too 'fexy
im too 'fexy for my carapace, too fexy for my carapace . . .
"Don't lie to me, Tyler! You know where liars go . . . . . they're elected President!!!"
I would drop the tl dev on the tyrant and exchange it for a tl deathspitter.
"*GASP*, but the tl deathspitter is useless on MCs says you"
Well, right now you're Tyrant would be optimized for light infantry hunting, and well, we you have other things capable of hurting light infantry. If it had a deathspitter, it goes from 6 str 5 shots to one str 7 shot, its well worth it if its going to shoots at anything with AV 11 or more. Which most tanks have, with the exception of vypers, killer khans, landspeeders, sentinels, and maybe a few others, but I think it's worth it. So that brings you're hivetyrant from a light infantry/land speeder hunter to a light vehicle hunter.(if you're going to fight alot of AV10 vehicles or only tanks /w av14, you should keep the devs)
And keep the guard and ec. makes him VERY durable and VERY mean in CC, the guard does give added rending. :yes:
Also, I would twinlink the deathspitters on the warriors instead of giving them spinefists. Increases their damage at range, and up close.
Maybe drop a few gaunts for those.
For the other group of warriors, give them all RC/ST, and drop the WS, not rly useful on warriors.
Oh, I don't really think you need 3 synapse units for 2 units of gaunts, so what you could do, is drop synapse on the thrope, give it and the tyrant warpscream, and watch them run. :shifty:
I don't think you have enough models either, so you might want to consider spinegaunts.
Maybe drop 3 stealers (then you have the same amount that comes in the box, and 8 stealers in 1k pts are still a force to be reckoned with) and a couple termagaunts for a squad of 12 spinegaunts. Brings you from 52 models (not bad) to 59 ( ) . And spinegaunts aren't bad, they do have twinlinked weapons, fleet, I4 and weapons /w AP!
Next, you're carnifex would be aided greatly /w a twinlinked dev.
I would drop tsacs on him to.
He already instakills all T4 chars, T4 charson bikes(T5), and T4 chars of nurgle(T5)/the deamonic upgrade giving them T5, and will already crush vehicles in CC.
The devs will give him nice fire support. But I wouldn't give him a TL deatspitter, a VC or a BS w/o ES. (you can have te devs though caus they're twin-linked and have multiple shots)
Even with the -1 attack, and the loss of the str you're fex will still be awesome in CC, WS4, -1 to enemie WS, R;y hard to kill, etc.
Hope I helped.
