Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have been playing with Tau for some months now an I have just started using markerlights. Not many people play 40K down in Brazil and the pathfinders are constantly excelling in their roles and saving my butt many times.
Problem is, ppl are bound to wise up and start gunning for them... So I made the following list using an stealth marker team...
Shas'el PR, MP, TA + HWMT 97pts
Shas'el PR, FB, TA + HWMT 97pts (possible deep striker)
Crisis Battlesuit Team (3 XV8s, all fireknives, Team leader with TA and HWMT, HWDC and two shield drones) 236 pts
Stealth Team 6 XV25s (team leader with Bonding Knife) 190 pts
Stealth Team 3 XV25s (Team Leader with Bonding, ML and TL), 4 Marker drones 230 pts
10 Kroots 70 pts
10 kroots 70 pts
12 Firewarriors (Shas'ui and Devilfish with TA, MT and DL) 230 pts
12 firewarriors (Shas'ui with ML and HWTL) 145 pts
- Fast Attack:
Piranha (TA, F 70 pts
- Heavy Support:
Railhead 180 pts
Railhead 180 pts
2 XV88s (Team Leader with TL and HWDC, 2 SD) 200 pts
Models in Army: 76
Total points: 1995

Do not DS a Shas'El thats a recipe for losing your most valuable XV8 asset, you will have no protection and he will not be able to use his IC status to avoid targetingOriginally Posted by TamoioLose the shield drones and an XV8 suit in the XV team use the points to bulk up the second stealth squad, 3 man teams are very weak and your missing some things if you lose 1 stealth your checking for moral, lose two and your running of the table and you lose all those expensive Marker drones, you have got your teams set up all wrong the drones need to be attached to a full team not a reduced unit. Lose the XV8 and SD and bulk that 3 man unit up and you will have 2 very tough Stealth units and you will get a lot more use out of those marker drones.Originally Posted by Tamoio
You will get more use out of the maxed stealth unit than the XV8 and the two man team will be ok, they are fireknifes so work better at range anyway, so you dont need the shield drones, use the JSJ move and cover.Lose the TA on the devilfish and the MT for 3 shots from a BC its a total waste of points, use the DF for what its intended to transport FW.Originally Posted by Tamoio
The ML is a waste of 15 points if you have to move the FW the Shas'Ui cant fire the ML and it misses 50% of the time.Seems a bit weak to me one pirahna with a BC, waste of 70 points, I would lose it.Originally Posted by TamoioYour list is very mobile and the XV88's simply do not fit, I would ditch them and take another HH with railgun, BC, Multi and DL for 165pts and use the 70pts from the pirahna and the 5pts from losing the ML and TL on the FW team to take either a drone squad to protect a Shas'El (are you aware of the circular drone / Shas'El protection tactic) or if your wanting more ML' for your force you could take another 4 ML drones for the 1st Stealth squad.Originally Posted by TamoioThere is one major fault with your idea for a stealth, ML drone squad. Markerlights are heavy so you cannot move and shoot the ML's. So you either have to compromise your Stealths shooting because they have a short ranged weapon and usually have to move to get into range, or you move the Stealths and you cannot shoot the Marker lights. either way a lot of points are going to go to waste.Originally Posted by Tamoio
The Stealths are a harrassment squad and need to be mobile, even taking the minimum Stealth squad to enable you to take the drones is costing you 90Pts, thats a lot of points to waste.
Pathfinders are the best option, I would rethink the list a bit if I were you.

Thank you for your comments... I find that the comment on the crisis squad very nice and I'm thinking about taking this suggestion and bulking up the second stealth squad.
But this brings another problem... The idea behind a stealth marker team is to keep it at range lighting targets and using the stealth field as cover... Every XV25 that I add to the unit would be a waste of 30 points since their BCs would not be used... And I could always remove a marker drone as a casualty in lieu of a XV25...
The idea is to keep at range not moving in the movement phase, mark the target and, if necessary, use the assault move to clear the area. That and the Stealth field makes this unit far more survivable than the Pathfinders... That's all in theory of course, I'm going to playtest this to se if my PFs are headed for the shelf or not.
Oh, and the Piranha is armed with a Fusion Blaster, sorry for not specifying that. It has its uses... Such as grabing victory points and killing High Value Targets. My friend that plays Iron Warriors :x :x :x has a positive fear that it is going to kill his Daemon Prince or his Basilisk...
The XV88s work wonders for me... Everyone comes gunning for them and I use the mobile part of my army as a hammer to pwn the adversary... usually works... And I love the models
