I voted for 'it might work sometimes', as it has some good foundations, but needs a lot of minor tweaks...

The tyrant is simply too expensive. I'd drop implant attack (at S6, you'll wound most on 2's already), and bio-plasma... worst thing you could do is charge a unit and kill the only model you're in B2B with from the bio-plasma attack.

Your HQ warriors are a mix of shooty and cc... dedicate them to one role and stick with it. With scything talons and shooty weapons, drop all the cc biomorphs as they're wasted when you're not in assault. And without rending claws, they're not strong enough to be assault units against anything but weak troops such as guard and tau.

For the regular warriors, again they are overboard on biomorphs. AG-I is good with the rending claws, but what you're really banking on is the killing power of 6's. Toxin sacs and AG-WS are questionable. Bio-plasma on these guys might be helpful against skimmers, but might be better off spent elsewhere.

Horm's are good - no biomorphs are the best way, imo. Just need to be careful with placement to avoid charging out of synapse in the initial rush.

A single squad of scuttling genestealers without EC is not going to last long at all. They're going to start ahead of your entire army and have no save to bolters. Give them EC or drop the scuttle and run them behind the horm's (to at least make opponent take a target priority test).

    Thropes are good.

HS Fex could use a VC instead of a set of devourers... give you some tank busting power at range. You'd be in a world of hurt against tau hammerheads with their 12" moving 72" range gun.

Overall a good start to a list, but minor improvements can make it that much tougher.

    A Minor Change

    I changed the:

    4T 17x Hormagaunts
    4(170)

    to:

    4T 16x Hormagaunts
    4(160)

    T 8x Spinegaunts
    40

I did this because I realized that I have only 64 hormagaunts and I don't feel like buying more.

It is no help to just say my list isn't good enough. I need tips not just a rating. Please help me improve my list, not just put it down.

If you don't want a rating, why did you put a poll on the post?
Also, try editing the top page of your army list. It makes it a lot more convenient for everyone.

As for you list, I quite like it. I like the HT a lot. I'm not convinced about the shooty warriors at all though. THey're expensive for what they are. I reckon these should be toned down a bit, you should lose a squad or hormies and you should get another fex in there.

    Good luck.

I do want a rating, I just don't want people to vote on my poll without saying why.
I'm just curious though...what would you do to my shooty warriors to make them good enough?

One thing you should know...I'd much rather have numbers than fexes (I just love the feeling of losing half of my guys and still have a grin on my face haha).

I put down effective on your last list
    Things I like:
    leaping warriors
    ec on genestealers
    cheap fex
    4 units of hormagaunts

    Things I do not like:
spinegaunts- I believe it will get left behind as rest army will out run including your gs since you gave them scuttler.

Things that I am indiffernt on:
3 Zoanthrpes-synapse is great but shooting will get you mixed results. At least that is what I have notice with my zoanthrops.
    Shooting warriors
Fex- I like fex but I would rather have the reinforced chitin then spine bank. But that is me.
Genestealers with scuttler- not sure how effective it is
I believe your list should do well .
    goodluck

Spinegaunts are actually pretty good as long as they are used right with hormagaunts. What you do is deploy your spinegaunts infront of hormagaunts and keep them infront until they get their shots or are assaulted. That way, you get shots off then assault, plus it gives the opponent another mistake to make...to shoot at the closest gaunts. Also, it adds another target priority test to take, which is just fun to see them loe sometimes haha. I normally would have another unit of spinegaunt for this effect, but i ran out of troops choices, and I would rather replace them with hormagaunts, but I only have 64 so I figure I'd use some spinegaunts for a cheap 80 point distraction. It actually works pretty well, especially for the points paid for it.

Oh and one more thing...since spinegaunt range is only 12", I'd be using fleet for a few turns, so they wouldn't be outran.

    Thanks for the response.
