Decent, but the Shield Generator isn't really worth it. If you have to use it, you're in trouble, anyways - you're either not using this model's IC status effectively (protecting you from shooting), or you aren't moving this model effectively (which protects you from CC). If you can be shot, or you are tied up in CC by a dedicated assault unit, chances are your Shas'el will be dead, anyways.Originally Posted by pervertdhermit
I'd recommend swapping the Shield Generator for a Targeting Array - it's just like having a Shas'O but for less points! While a single 'Suit with this setup is decent for your suicidal raids on vehicles, I will have to go so far as to say two are not. You will be lacking in anti-MEQ firepower without the aid of Crisis Suits equipped to deal with MEQs, and these two, with a measly single shot, will be of little help against them. I'd recommend switching at least one of them for a Plasma/Fusion or a Plasma/Missile 'Suit, complete with Team Leader upgrade and Targeting Array. :yes:Elite: Xv8= twin fusion, shield gen, hw multi=68
Xv8=twin fusion, shield gen, hw multi=68Good.6 Xv25=burst cannons=180Good, though I prefer units like this to be at max strength. If you don't have the points, however, I can understand that. I would recommend throwing a bonding knife on your Shas'ui, however, as, since they are not mounted on a Devilfish, they will be getting shot at and the ability do deny 50% victory points to your enemy is very much worth the cheap points cost of the bonding knife.Troops: 10 firewarriors=1 shas'ui, 9 shas'la, pulse rifles= 110
10 firewarriors=1 shas'ui, 9 shas'la, pulse rifles=110Okay, a couple things. First, while it is better in this version of the 'dex than the last one, I still don't recommend equipping your Fire Warriors with Pulse Carbines. You will be missing half the time with them, and the double shots/added range of the Pulse Rifles will be much better used. The Devilfish will ensure that you get into rapid fire range, to boot.10 firewarriors=1 shas'ui, 9 shas'la, pulse carbines ** devil fish w/ burst cannon and gun drones** =190
Second, the Devilfish itself needs at least Decoy Launchers as an upgrade.Decent, but you're pushing a lot of points into these two squads. Having 12 Kroot Carnivores in there is a little un-needed, however - you should bring them down to 10, so that you have 10 Kroot Carnivores and 10 Hounds. Make sure you get them into cover (woods or jungles preferred, naturally) and don't neglect the Kroot's shooting - while, with the Hounds, they are a fairly decent Assault unit they still have no armour save, so just beware of that when you go charging into close combat.12 kroot=1 shaper, 10 hounds=177
12 kroot=1 shaper, 10 hounds=177Both of these need to be equipped with Decoy Launchers, but besides that, they could also use Target Locks if you can find the points for them. I would also recommend upgrading the Ion Cannon to a Railgun.. it's much better against both tanks and medium infantry, and can even cause MEQs to wince when that submunition round is laid on 'em. :yes:Heavy Support: Hammerhead=railgun, burst cannons, multi tracker=160
Hammerhead= ion cannon, burst cannons, multi tracker= 125
Your list is decent - it doesn't have any huge holes, but a few things do have rough edges that can be smoothed out. ^_^ Keep in mind, these are all just my opinions, based on my experiences/research with the army.. I encourage you to experiment!
i was thinking the ion cannon was a cheap alternative that was good vs light skimmers and heavy elite troops.
what is MEQ?
editted the list to reflect some advice

Light Skimmers are easily taken down by the high strength basic weaponry of your Troops, etc. - I don't think you need to worry too much about those. As for heavy elite Troops, even the Ion Cannon won't be taking too many of them out, as they usually have a better than Marine save. Just my opinion, of course.Originally Posted by pervertdhermitMarine Equivalent. Units/models sharing similar stats with the basic Space Marine.what is MEQ?
