Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey everyone, im realtivly new to 40k and warhammer altogether. As you can guess my first race is necrons, and iv played a few games and i want some second opinions on my army list. I play against I.G, Tau, Witch Hunters, Tyranids (not much), Elder, and Space Marines (ultra). We all play 1500 points and id aslo like some tips on how to beat them with any new army list that you suggest. Heres my current army list
1 lord rezz orb + veil
10 scarbs (always with D field unless against skimmer veichels and nids)
------------------------------------------------------------------------- this is 1258 pts (242 left) or 1218 (282 left) with out D filed on scarbs
The next part of my list varies on who i play iv devised options against all 6 races
Tau: either 5 more destroyers, or 8 immortals (plz suggest which is better
I.G: 5 more destrors
Witch Hunters (Guy just bought his army, never played with them before): Totaly lost here please suggest waht to take
Elder: 5 more destros
Tyranid: MORE WARRIORS
Elder (Uthe-way/Biel Tan): 5 more destros/ 13 flayed ones
Space Marines (ultra marines): Totaly confused here as well please suggest things.
Thanks for all your help and comments, remember all things are just what iv found/think is best feel free to suggest anything anywhere.
Personally I would drop a warrior squad, and add a monolith.
Also i would get 8 immortals instead of 5 extra destroyers...better for veil warping around the field.
For starters, this thread belongs in the army lists sub-forum which you will find at the top of the main necron page. As for your list, permanently swap out a squad of warriors for a squad of 10 flayed ones. With the left over points put get as many immortals as you can (10 max tho) and stick that squad with your lord. Any other points get a couple more destroyers, and take like 2x4 or 2x3 if you can
Why only 1500 points? that just makes things difficult. Anyway, you are on the right track with your warriors, personally, I take as many as I can fit in because at the end of the day, the phase out rule can be quite a git! I would use two lords both with res orb, one with veil of darkness. Scarabs can be pretty nasty if you can get `em into CC, especially if you give them Disruption fields. I would take a unit of flayed ones and a Monolith, any unit with the Necron rule can be teleported out of CC back through the Monolith and into combat again which gives them an EXTRA WBB roll !! basically, Flayed ones supported by a Monolith are deadly - the Tau would not like a unit of flayed ones up `em !! Use Immortals too, they kick ass.
He is probly only playing 1500pts because that is fairly low points cost that most clubs play. Thats what everyone i know play, some times opting to play 2000. It doesnt usually go much over that for me tho. Some people swear by a monolith in 1500pt games, however rememer its ~250pts that could be spent elsewhere and that isnt going to die from 1 shot. Monoliths are hard to kill, but remember it only takes 1 shot. I usually only take the monolith against CC orientated armies because they tend to have less heavy weapons, and whatever they do have can usually be dealt with before they get to shoot at the monolith.
