Welcome to Librarium Online!
I just got into necrons and have alot of money to spend on units. I need to create a unit list and read the rulebook/codex and was wondering if this is alright..
1 Necron Lord (Gaze of flame, Warscythe, Chronometron, and Res orb)
1 tomb spyders
10 Flayed Ones
With this much I still have 57 points left over. What else should I bring? I'd also like to state that I am well aware that people do not like Pariah. But I believe that they make decent support. So please don't ask me to remove them without good reason and write up your point why they should go and what would be better in their place. I'm looking for opinions but not one line answers such as "I don't like pariah get rid of them and add warriors". I'd like a reason stating why. I'm new but I have read and learned alot and I read the pariah tactica. Yes, I know that the Necron Lord is a very popular HQ choice but I'm going with the Deceiver because he works well with the whole.. Scarab, Pariah, Flayed ones combo. For my last remaining points. I'm thinking of adding 3 more scarabs. Scarabs are very good units and you can't ever get too many of those from what I've read . So what do you guys think? Oh and I refuse to remove my monolith. I'd really like to keep that.
*Edit* Removed two tomb spyders and added a Necron lord with some wargear.

I don't have much time to reply now, but I will say that with the deciever, and wraiths and scarabs, it would be a good idea to remove the flayed ones and add some more immortals...
And yes,use that extra 57 for scarab swarms that was my first thought on that.
Ah, thank you for your reply and I'll consider that option. I really like the flayed ones because it can be combined in the junction of the Deceivers ability but I can also see with the deceiver's abilities how their own can be a little redundant. Thanks for this suggestion. So as it stands it would seem either the wraiths or Flayed ones would have to go.
You have choosen not to have a res orb, this is quite interesting, I would highly recommend one. Gaze of flame also goes nicely with the Deceivers abilities. You should think about giving the scarabs d'fields, too.
PS. This should really be in the army list section.
Oh. Forgot to mention. The reason I only have 56 points available is because I did give my swarm D field. As well as my Flayed ones. I didn't get Res orb because I have a C'Tan instead of a Lord as my HQ choice. I figured that his "deceive" and "dread" abilities work well with Pariahs and Flayed ones. I made a similar post in the army lists. Didn't realize there was one.. don't know how I missed it. The purpose of the army is to be able to deal with any threat while having plenty of different units to tie up my opponents in CC. The Wraiths and Flayed ones actually being able to do damage in the process and flayed ones tearing through units not good at CC. The Scarabs, of course, damaging vehicles and doing their job as well. Ooh, I didn't notice that you took note of my Deceiver. I apologize and I'm somewhat new. I know you can have two lords. You can have a lord and a Deceiver? I didn't know that. Can you suggest what I should remove for my lord? Because a lord with those abilities would be somewhat costly going above the 2500 limit. Thank you for suggestions

Thank you sir for deleting the duplicate and moving this into the army list sub forum.Originally Posted by Lost Nemesis
You can always have two HQ choices. As for what to drop, I would say two of the TS but, this depends on if you deploy your warriors in groups of ten or 15. With groups of 15 put the TS in the middle of warriors as they march forward. You can also drop the d'field on the FO.Originally Posted by Gaerolth
Now take the points for a Lord with res orb, destroyer body, gaze of flame, and you have 12 points extra. Ask your opponent if you can go three point over on your list. On put this Lord with your Wraiths and Destroyers.
A warscythe is nice in CC but, can not shoot. The staff of light with a d'field on the Lord is cheaper. Phylactery is also nice to have or a chronometron if attached to the wraiths.
Hope this helps.
Thank you! So other than that. Once I make these changes. Does my list sound good and competitive? how well do you believe it'll do? Yes, my warriors are going to be in groups of 15. So you're saying drop two tomb spiders and keep one in the middle? Depending how I make my Phalanx, that can still reach most of my troops. I just want the above question to be answered because on paper it looks pretty good but It'd be nice to have an opinion from someone experienced. I don't expect my army to be the most kickass one. Just an army that is effective and stands a chance against other armies . Thank you so much for all the advice.
