I play many games with my Biel-Tan against opponents who love tanks and powerful heavy support choices (chaos defilers sp?) etc. They don't field many troops because of the points spent on their tanks. So, how about the following list to deal with them once and for all.
Farseer with shuriken pistol, witchblade, fortune and ghosthelm
Warlock with shuriken pistol, ccw, enhance
8 Howling Banshees, Exarch with executioner
6 Fire Dragons
2 Wave Serpents with TL Bright Lances, TL catapaults, spirit stone
Falcon with shuriken cannon, pulse laser, holo field, spirit stone
All units in skimmers, Banshees + Farseer, Wraithguard + Warlock in Serpents, Fire Dragons in Falcon.
Skimmers move 12" in turn one, serpents fire at tanks, falcon softens up troops with cannon. Turn 2 skimmers deposit troops. Dragons take on high toughness units, Wraithguard take on vehicles, monsterous creatures etc while the Banshees take on the rank and file.
Any and all thoughts appreciated.
Give it a Starcannon.Heavy Support
Falcon with shuriken cannon, pulse laser, holo field, spirit stoneI'd give it conceal instead of enhance. Wraithguard should be shooting rather then in close combat, IMHO.Warlock with shuriken pistol, ccw, enhance
With conceal, they will have a 3+/5+ save.
Otherwise, looks like a pretty good list to me. Take it to your opponent! Literally!
By the way this list is only going to be legal for about a month. Then the new Dex hits. If you're tweaking an existing force, give that a try for a while!
If you're starting new I would suggest starting off by collecting/painting models you're pretty sure you want.
With the vehicle heavy opponents (and with proposed buffs to boot) I'd advise going for the fire dragons, and still getting a falcon to transport them (though buy a waveserpent or a fire prism, those boxes contain all the parts for a falcon plus other stuff for only a little more).
The starcannon is getting nerfed but otherwise it sounds like the falcon will be buffed. It should very reliably get the dragons where you want them as it will be even more immortal than before. And with cheaper shuri cannon upgrades and a buffed scatter laser it'll do a number on low armor values(such as rear armor) all on it's own!
