    [1000] Eldar-Eater

I'm playing a 1000 pt game vs. eldar next week. I have no idea what kind of list he's going to run. In fact, I've never even played against the eldar before. Here's 997 points I've made up, after digesting some advice on the Eldar. Let me know if I should do anything differently.

EDIT: LOOK DOWN 3 POSTS FOR CURRENT LIST

if your fex doesn't have enhanced senses you better give them to him or he'll never hit anything, hitting on 5+ would be a poor way to use a gunfex, other than that it looks pretty good, just remember to use cover

Take the toxin sacs off of the tyrant. Most eldar are T3 already (except, ironically, the farseer if I remember correctly) and you'll be wounding on 2s anyway. Keep him and cover and be careful of any wave serpeants/falcons (they carry fire dragons and 7-8 of them will pop out and fry any MC they can get to).

Replace two squads of hormies with spinies. Trust me. Spinegaunts can still handle many eldar effectively in close combat (them being T3 again) with sheer numbers and their shooting can be very effective.

Give your zoanthropes synapse. All your opponent really has to do is kill a relatively easy Tyrant (for eldar, who live and breath AP2 weapons) to make half your army ineffective. Have backup in the form of zoans.

I'd take out all your hormies and bring in four squads of eight spinegaunts and bring a lictor. A lictor is effective at hunting "rearline" eldar units that don't rely on falcon/wave serpents. These include dark reapers (which should be its top priority) and guardian squads with heavy weapon platforms.

Just remember, eldar are able to out tyranid the tyranids (they can do everything we do except better and our only advantage--the genestealer--will be nulled when the new codex comes out and they get the broken harlequins).

PS-I'd replace TS on your tyrant with WS+ and Miasma, maybe the I upgrade if you find some extra points somewhere.

Wow. I completely forgot to give the fex senses. I'm so lucky somebody saw that...

Here's a slightly revised list, @ 999 points. I swapped the HT's sacs for AG(WS) and miasma, gave the fex senses, and traded the ravener and some hormies for a lictor... damn, lictors are a lot of points. I don't have any spinegaunts, but I added some rippers for more cheap fodder. Any more advice?

    *EDIT* I swapped the fex's +Sv for +T. I also gave the hormies AG(I).

I hope I am still running enough models. I can't think of any ways to squeeze in more bodies, althougb I'm used to more hordie-ness

    Battle Report

Edit: Whoops, I shouldn't have posted the battle results in two different places... so now they're just in one place; here.

F-ing yeah man! Excellent result! Well done! I'm really happy for you

Nice one to munch on all the pointy heads and their hankies.

    Sounded like an epic match!

    Fantastic!

Any ideas about his list apart from swooping hawks, skimmers, scorpions and guardians?

Was he using the new codex?
