I've just bought the tyranid battleforce, and this is my first tyranid list. I've tried to keep it quite cheap(in money).
Extended carapace, flesh hooks, toxin sacs.
Retinue: 5 Genestealers
Leaping, extended carapace, Adrenal glands(I), scything talons, rending claws.
Enchanced senses, Barbed strangler, Venom cannon, reinforced chitin.
Warp blast, synapse.
1000 pts total.
My main enemies will probably be eldar and tau.
The broodlord will infiltrate if possible, and I'll try to get him into combat as soon as possible. The Lictor will be used to take out small heavy weapon squads, or help my other broods in combat.
The hormies, spinegaunts and genestealers will dash forward and engage the enemy, using cover to survive. The warriors will run behind the screen of spinegaunts. The carnifex will blast away and do some tankbusting. The zoanthrope's just cheap synapse.
If you feel your Carnifex adequately covers Synapse, use the Zoanthrope as an MEQ buster (with the unpowered blast template shot). You'd be surprised how effective it is at busting up Dev squads.
If you are trying to keep your $ costs down try. Add EC to your BL. Add leaping to your warriors. It won't be a problem to bump the stealer & gaunts broods by 1. A lictor is probably best left out of a list under 1000 points. If you want a Lictor replacment Raveners are cheaper in $.
