    Yoshimitsu the Necron? 1500 Competative

    My girlfriend has decided to play 40k and has entrusted me to draw up her list in advance. Her request is that it plays in the spirit of Yoshimitsu from Soul Caliber 2 (we play this game a lot and she is a fan of the teleporty crazyness). Also she wants wraiths.

    As Yoshimitsu is a bit unorthodox, I made it a bit odd (aka no destroyers). As he is teleporty, I made it teleporty. As she is hypercompetative, I tried to make it decent.

    I am not a necron player myself, but all compel all you good living metal souls please give your suggestions. Alternate lists are STRONGLY appreciated. I would like to see others interpretations of what Yoshimitsu would play like in addition to my own.

    i thought yoshimitsu was from tekken. maybe he is from both but originaly from the other game.

    Damn that was very insightful, i almost hit the rep button.

    ANYWAY.... You have a solid shotting base with warriors, however i think the lack of destroyers is really going to hurt you. But if you are adamant about no destroyers, then i would make your list more of a CC list and swap out 10 warriors for 10 flayed ones. Its the same points cost, same PO but you have an awesome CC specialist that will do wonders along side your wraiths and scarabs. Other than that its a really good list for a non-necron player

    Mmmm that type of list usually works better with smaller warriors squads, and alot more of them. Probly not ideal for a 1500pts game. Thats the kinda list you take if you're looking at 2000pts and wanna try something different. Always a nice concept tho

    Well if you buy the models you can split them up however you want. Whether you prefer to have everyone going through a monolith or if you want 4 different squads for objectives and firepower and the like.

    I am not adamant about no destroyers. Just a thought at the time.

    I was also thinking of dropping the res orb (I hear both res orb and veil on a guy is too much) and then swapping the scarabs to:

    9 Flayed ones
    7 Flayed ones with disruption feilds and warsycthe on lord
    3 Destroyers and warsycthe on lord
    10 Scarab with disruption feilds

    Is the tactical flexiblity of the res orb better than any of these changes??? I kind of like adding 9 flayed ones or the destroyers. However, I have seen res orb be very good at times. I am just thinking that if I veil over with the immortals the orb is in the wrong spot to help much.


    Yoshimitsu is from both tekken and soul caliber. I have no clue which first. He kind of sucks in tekken though. In soul caliber he is pretty unique.

    You have to remember tho that if you veil over with your immortals, you are going to be a long way from the rest of your army and possibly within range of every enemy unit depending on LoS. Now i dont know about, but if i had a lord and immortals pop up next to me, i'd be shotting everything i had at it that turn and then assaulting it with as much as i could to get rid of it. Because if i dont, god knows its only going to teleport somewhere else and cause even more pain until that high points cost unit of death is dead. This is why the res orb is taken on the lord with VoD. Sure it is unlikely to be of much benefit to the rest of your army, but then where it will be needed most is with your immortals so that they can survive the enemy turn and make all their WBB and then go on to wreak havoc on your next turn

    I have now swapped to this list.

    170 Lord VoD Warscythe

    280 10 Immortals

    180 10 Warriors

    180 10 Warriors

    180 10 Warriors

    82 2 Wraiths

    82 2 Wraiths

    235 Monolith

    110 2 Tomb spyders

    1499

    I realized that only str 10 killed the immortals so the rez orb would only be cool if I decided to not use the VOD...

    I swapped to tomb spyders thinking that it benifits the two walking warrior squads in the back and furthers the armies CC abilities.

    I went to two units of Wraiths so that the units can give WBB support to each other.

    Overall I think this is a pretty nice set up.

    i would take out some immortals and put in a couple of destroyers.
