Ok my local games shop is hostin a tourney and I havent ever used my new Tyranid army competatively before but I think I'd like to try for fun. Call it a swarm if you want...since I removed the hormies for genes I think it kinda scaled down a bit.
Bio:Wings(modeled), AD(WS),Implant Attacks,Toxin Sacs & Flesh Hooks
Weapon: x2 Scything Talons
Psychhadow in the warp
Bio: Extended Carapace
Bio:AD(WS) & Toxin Sacs
Bioxtended Carapace & Enhanced Senses
Weapons: Scything Talons & Deathspitters
Psych:WarpBlast & Synapse
Bionhanced Sense, Extended Carapace, Flesh Hooks, Reinforced Chittin, Regenerate, AD(WS) & Toxin Sacs
Weapons:Crushing Claws & Venom Cannon
So yeah...what do you all think? Keep or lose the hormies?

That Carnifex looks to be really expensive... it makes you think of it as a Land Raider except it has 4 wounds.
Anima Tactics - try it out!
I agree with nekochen, you should slim down the carni-beast a little bit. Also, to answer your question I would take the stealers. It looks like you got your fodder requirement covered with the termies, but you could definitely use the rending.
I would change the fex's crushing claws to a barbed strangler instead. It will make him MUCH better at shooting. And it will save you points, since you can then lose the AG(WS) and the toxin sacs as well. Generally, crushing claws aren't a very competitive weapon I've decided. Plus, mixing ranged- and cc-fexiness isn't really an efficient use of bio-material.
Besides a little fex-tweaking though, I think it's a solid list. Good luck at the tourney! Remember to tell us how it turned out!
Tyranids: 2500 pts
Imperial Guard: 1000 pts
Witch Hunters: 1000 pts
I personally find that 2x Twin Linked Devourers perform better than 2x Scything Talons, but Scything Talons remain effective (especially against MEQs). Beware Force Weapons.
In any case, your hybrid 'Fex costs a lot of points for something that will probably never see use from those Crushing Claws. Regenerate is barely functional... yes, you get to reroll every lost wound the Carnifex has every turn, but the chances of you recovering enough to save the 'Fex is minimal. You'd probably be better off stripping off the Toxin Sacs, Adrenal Glands, and Regenerate, and adding Bonded Exoskeleton and a Barbed Strangler (or Twin-Linked Devourer).
