hey people, well im about to go into a friendly combat patrol tournament with a few mates but also some noobs and was looking for some advice on a couple of lists that i have written up. and im guessing you all no the rules for combat patrol right if not just tell me and ill write them so you no. my opponents could basically be any army from space marine through to necrons so i need a good all round list that can go against anything
LIST A - Shooty
5 x Rangers
2 x War Walkers - 2x EML, 2 x Scatterlaser
3 x Jetbikes
10 x Guardians - Starcannon
this list i basically sit back and shoot anything that moves and use my jetbikes to scoot around and distract the enemy and if need be charge
10 x Striking Scorpions
Exarch with Scorpions Claw, Stalker, Shadowstrike
3 x Jetbikes
2 x War Walkers - 4 x Scatterlaser
basically my SS will infiltrate and just go straight into the fray and hack some guys to death while my jetbikes will support them by charging along with them or hold up other units from swarming my SS. the WW will basically sit back and giv the enemy hell from afar.
well any help wood be much appreciated.

I like the first list, just because. I think its a matter of preference, but a hate having so many point invested in one unit. It will also be a good idea to split up the warwalkers so that they move independently and fire independently.

I must say list 1 looks plain evil for a combat patrol. Missile launchers in case you meet a fish and plenty of scatter lasers.
I like it a lot.
List 2 looks good, I think you should tone down the scorpions a bit to add a jetbike or 2 though.
Overall I love the look of list 1.
cheers mate i never even thort to split the mup but now i think i will. they will be able to cver more of the field if they r like that.
im likin list one, its got plenty of fire power, and i like to war walkers as a combat patrol fluff thing

Yeah you always split the war walkers up. It means they can only hurt 1 in a single volley of fire and you can choose seperate targets. It also means stunned and immoblised doesn't mangle the other walker.
PS: I sent you a PM about your English and made several spelling mistakes in it. I know I'm a hyppocrite but I have an excuse for the moment. Its called lack of sleep. :rolleyes:

but anyway yeah i was liking list one more than the second mainly cuz my eldar army is alaitoc so basically my play style is sit back and shoot the enemy and try to pin them.
and whats better is that if i have to play escalation half of my force will be on the table and in position before the enemy even get onto the table.
Maybe you should consider a stargun on the guardians though. Just for some kind of reliability against MEQ's.
thats actually a good idea ill just drop the extra guardian and take a starcannon cuz if need be i can still get glancing hits on the front armour of devilfish which i no ill be facing as i usually play against mechanised tau. and also they kill space marines really good.
