    Tau 1850pts Mech & Infantry combo

    Hi, so i've been planning my latest foray into collecting an army, and i've got this one worked out. If anyone can offer up any sound advice other than going 'omgz where are your crisis suits' then i'll be really appreciative!!

    Tau, 1850pts

    HQ:
    Shas'el: Plasma Rifle, Missile pod, multitracker, hard wired blacksun filter 90pts


    HQ: Ethereal 50pts

    Honour Guard: 9 + Shas'ui, bonding knife 135pts

    Devilfish: Targeting array, 2 seeker missiles 105pts



    Elites: Stealh suits, 3 90pts



    Troops: Fire Warriors: 9 + Shas'ui, Marker drone, bonding knife 145pts

    Devilfish: Smart missile system, Targeting array, multitracker, seeker missile 125pts

    this is a good looking list but go back and read you codex it says you may only have 1 sniper team per army pal

    I think that's because the Sniper Teams is a 0-1 slot, but you can add like 1-3 sniper teams into one slot, correct me i'f I'm wrong though.

    And this list looks great :w00t: . I'm new to tau though, but it looks really solid to me.
    By the way, how do the 6 man fire warrior squads work with pulse carbines, they only have an 18 range right?

    a couple comments. since your not using any crisis try to either beef up your on your one steath team or make another. because pop up and fire then desiper:wacko: annoyes your apponet a lot and i could lead to him making a mistake, like bringing your enemy into your firing line. also you cant move your squads with the markerlights in them if you want to shoot the marker lights. plus the shas'ui in the honor guard is not needed because the eathreal gives 10 leadership

    Sniper teams are taken as a 0-1 choice, with the possibility of having 3 teams to fill the 1 FOC. So yeah he can have two teams.

    The list looks good, just keep the ethereal safe, or things could get ugly lol. Other than that it looks like it could be a competative list.

    Good point about dropping the shas'ui in the honour guard, hadn't thought about that!

    I figured the footslogging 6 man FW teams with carbines would be good to guard the sniper units, as they can move and shoot they can make a fighting retreat from any enemy that gets too close, and obviously any enemy that gets that close needs to be made to test for pinning at every available opportunity!

    I'll see what i can cram in with 10pts then... not alot
