Just got a bundle of orcs for a tourney this weekend. It my first 1000 pts. I've got three days to sort out the kinks and play test on thursday the 14th.

1 nob with choppa/slugga - 260

Total = 999
My other models include 2 nobs with power claws, 2 nobs with choppa/slugga, two gun buggies(big shoota's), 2 trucks, 2 zzap guns and about 15 extra boys. Oh and 10 bikes(not assembled but I do have 6 days to get it together).
I will be playing a three game round robin. All of the eight possible boards are terrain heavy.
It is a 16 player tourney where I will face mostly Eldar, SM and the odd guard player. Follow the grot shield and waaaagh. At least I think that is how it goes.
I plan on getting blown to smitherines but I'd like to take some people with me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i would say drop the big shootas coz you can't shoot them on the move and slugga boyz should always be on the move also find a way to get PK's on the nobs.

Not bad, generally how I will outfit mine, minus the Big Horns. Sometimes I opt for a PK on him instead of the Slugga. Also, the Bionic Arm is generally only worth the points if you give him say a Choppa and a Rokkit. That way the Bionic Arm offers 2 extra attacks (its bonus attack + the normal bonus attack for 2 CC weapons). Were you already have the 2 CC weapons, the Bionic Arm's 1 bonus attack isn't worth the points.Warboss
Choppa/slugga, bionic arm, bionic bounce, heavy armor, big horns - 97I tend to run my Slugga Boyz at 20, any more than that and they become very unwieldy. Also, I run them solely with Rokkits. Rokkits don't fire as much as Big Shootas, but they pack a much bigger punch. They are great Anti-Tank and they will insta-kill MEQ's with out giving them a save opp.25 slugga

Finally, try and get a PK on the Nob, they are more than worth it!Like the Rokkits here, but like I say above, I personally don't like squads over 20 and always go with the PK on the Nob.25 slugga
1 nob with choppa/slugga - 260Ah Grotz, so much fun Never gone with 1 squad of 27 though, generally run them around 20 like my Boyz. If you have the extra Grotz maybe form 2 squads of em, 1 for each Boyz Mob. Also, on the Slaver I usually give him a Rokkit for alittle extra punch.27 grots
1 slaver choppa/slugga - 93Never use to use these, but once I tried them once I never took them out. Love Burna Boyz! Though the Choppa and Bionic Arm are un-needed on the Mek, I go with just the Burna. I very rarely use the burna to shoot and instead opt for the PW option on the charge, especially against MEQs10 burna boyz

I'm not an ork player but if I was playing this army I think my lascannons would have a bit of a no-brainer, I usually try and take loads of tanks or none at all, and I think this applys here as your kans could find themselves blown to bits as soon as the break cover.
Thanks for the help. I won one and lost two. The squads were very very hard to maneuver because of size. I will start at 20 from now on. The grots were fantastic. They killed tow scout squads. I lost to two power game list(wraithlord x2, avatar, farseer in one and Blood angels two maxed assault squads, death company in rhino and two minimum scout squads) and pulled out a victory against grey knights. Burna boyz are great.
