Here is a list that I haven't had a chance to try out yet:
Do you think that this would struggle against any particular army?
Add an immortal to the squad of 9, then lose the remaining 7, give the lord a VoD. This leaves you with 137 points to play around with. If you pull a warrior off, then you can fit in 3 destroyers, which is good. Or, without pulling a warrior, you could have a squad of 7 flayed ones come out of the monolith if you're deep striking it.
The lord and the immortals should jump around, shooting all the nasty targets. I think this list would be great against pretty much every body, especially since you have mobility (Vod) and fire power (lith and lots of warriors, immortals)
Hey 'mind checking out the other lists in this forum? 3 Lists in 1 week and I'm the only one to reply so far...
Ok, thanks for the advise. How about this:
Lord, VOD, gaze of flame (I'm still slightly worried about the absense of a res. orb)
I know a lot of people like the VOD (I used to), but I've had terrible luck with it. You basically end up placing the fate of your entire army in a single set of dice rolls. 2 out of 3 times you scatter and in my experience, 1 out of 3 of those times you scatter somewhere that ends up wiping out all or a large chunk of your squad. The loss of a lord and an entire squad is almost always impossible to come back from (340 points with a lord with just the VOD and 10 warriors; this loss is even more catastrophic with immortals or larger squads of warriors). So, 2 out of 9 times you lose just on a single roll of the scatter dice. Personally, I would rather move up the board (with 3 more warriors) and at least give my opponent something else to shoot at. Granted, if you roll well, it's a huge help, but IMO, the risk is too great. I don't know, maybe I've just rolled poorly, we play with too much terrain, or something...
I would suggest trading an immortal squad for a destroyer squad just for mobile shooting.
That's what the immortals are for, they jump aroung blasting whatever. I have had almost no bad luck with the VoD, I love it.
Perhaps there's too many warriors, I'd through in some destroyers after taking many of them out. I try not to go over 12 per squad.
