Working on a 750 point list for the upcoming Conflict tournament, and after a few practice games this list seems to work pretty well:
Drachon w/ Drug Dispenser, Punisher, T. Helm and Shadow Field = 110
4 Wyches, Wych Weapons, Succubus, Agoniser, Raider = 147
2x Sniper Squads (10 warriors, 2 Lances) = 200
11 Warriors, 2 Splinter Cannons = 108
3 Reavers, Blaster = 85
1 Talos = 100
The Drachon sticks the wyches, and the bikes and raider are handy for taking out anything with a range longer that 36". However, i have trouble dealing with infantry that shoot more than 36" (like a havoc/devestator squad or marines with an autocannon/missle launcher), as they cant be hit by the sniper squads, and are generally deployed behind everything else, too far for my wyches to safely assault. Any tips?
i would think about dropping the talos and adding some more reavers to get another blaster in there. add some wyches too. with the left over points, maybe add some worriors to the cannon squad
I would say drop the Talos aswell. It's slow, and very unpredictable. Then maybe you can take out one sniper squad to add numbers to your Cannon squad, Reavers, and you might find enough points to field a Ravager with 3 Dissies.
I think reaver AND talos should both be dropped. Reavers are a point sink in a battleless then 1000 points and they probably wont pay for their points.
Talos is obviously slow and unpredictable, so a ravager would be a better choice for a 750 point game.
Reavers are great unts who is to argue, but 3 is just way too little to cause any great damage and at such a small scale battle I just dont think they will pay for their points. Plus they are just too expensive to be included in small battles like this.
With those dropped, you would have enough points to fully boost the the wych squad and add a fully modified ravager with 3 disies for marine killing. 4 wyches with an archon isnt a whole lot of kiling power as a shadow field can block only so many blows before collapsing.
As for dealing with devastators, they will probably be deployed in a specific place benind enemyu line where they cant be reached by assault so the only way to stay away from them is through the use of cover and hiding behind terrain such as buildings and trees. Most of the time they will be deployed in cover and not have a dirrect view along most of the battlefield, their assignment is usually keeping a firelane open and blasting anything that crosses it. To avoid that, choose a different path and use terrain to block LOS to yor raiders and once close enough to assault his infantyr, just go for it and watch lonely devastators sit back with nothing to shoot at.
