I will be happy to, I love power geared list. Oh, and please don’t get offended by how I give advise, I usually just state do this do that, its all conjecture. Take it or leave it.
Ill start with the HQ's, take off the TL plasma. You should have BS 5, so their should be no need for TL. You always need plasma on your HQ's so keep it, also keep the MP. HWTL is trash for this set up, keep the HWMT for sure and add a Target Array. This should make your HQ's more pt conservative and still make up their points back.
I personally play with 2 Son' O's, which have FB, PR, MP, HWMT. It is more expensive but if you play with 3 Rail Heads you need the extra FB. And if you are playing power for GT, I would rather play with 3 Rail Heads than two and one BASS unit. Bass are great at only killing armor and that is it, don’t get me wrong they can hold their own in GT environments but I just prefer RH’s.
Four stealth with TA’s are the best setup, stealth compliment BASS and FK’s compliment RH’s. If you decide to lose the BASS switch over to Fireknifes. Go for 3 squads of 2 FK's one with the team leader and TA equipped.
Unless you have two squads of 12 FW in a DF with DL, DP don’t use them. One FW won’t make up their points back. Use 3 kroot squads, these guys wont make up their points back either but they are better for their price and are more effective than one mech FW squad, oh and make them a ten man squads only, and throw in two of static 6 FW's.
Lastly the Heavy section, you already know to use RH's but take off the SMS for BC's they compliment the HH so much more. Oh and you probably wont have room for Target Locks for them, its no real big deal, they should always be at max range anyways. I thought I was done till I saw you didn’t have any DL! Never leave home with out them.
HQ is to expansive and you have all your XV8 firepower concentrated in one place which is never a good plan, retinues are bad anyway and your paying for extra equipment to allow you to shoot at different targets.
If you want to be able to target separate units then ssplit the XV8,s up, you would be much better served with two seperate Shas'Els (forget Shas'O's they are overpriced) give them PL, MP (or fusion) TA and HW multi you have 2 independent characters both hiting on 2+ and they can take two units between them or concentrate on one unit together, your not paying for target locks and the unit is a lot cheaper but just as effective (194pts)
You are then left with 145 pts and you should consider either another unit in DF or two units of Kroot (10) with 6 hounds (206pts), I will give you hints on points later.
The Kroot give you immense versitality with anti infiltrate, good CC usefulness and good shooting as well.
Just take a 6 man stealth squad for 180 pts and use them for what they excell at, you will also get some much needed boost in anti infantry, something your list really lacks.
Use the saved points to take the other FW unit or Kroot
Hammerheads should have Railgun, BC, Multi and DL' for 165 pts forget the SMS and TL if your using these in a GT environment they should always be moving and at maximum range, so you need the multi and do not need the SMS.
Now with the advise above you have
2 HQ shas'els PL/FU or MP/Ta and HW multi 97pts x 2
Stealths X 6 180pts
12 FW (PR) in DF with DL's 215pts X2
Sniper squad X 2 160 pts (I amy be out on this at wirk no codex to hand)
Or with two Kroot squads and 1 FW squad in DF 1291pts
This leaves you 209pts to play with so I would go for a unit of Deathrains with Twin linked MP and TA, with one upgraded to team leader with HW target lock, for a unit that hits on 3+ with reroll and can hit 2 units a turn.
You will be left with around 90pts, now you could take another XV8 lone suit in Fireknife configuration PL/MP/TA/HW multi (team leader) for 77pts or take another sniper squad, its up to you, the Snipers give you ML's but the XV8 adds some mid range firepower ummph.
the changes I advise will give you a much more cohesive, hard hitting force with anti infantry to spare, ooodles of anti armour and mobilty, with Kroot it would be excellent against infiltrators and CC armies.
Hope that has helped
i prefer the blunt and brutal replies
my tau have been moth balled for the last 2 years (still gluing it back together)
