I'm am considering whether or not vulture kindred will make it to my mercenary army...
On the up-side they have a jump-pack move, can run and are guaranteed a first turn charge, which with kroot would mean starting immediately by putting some pressure on the enemy, which IMO is fundamental.
On the down-side they cost 50% more than normal kroot and are a nuisance to model.
What would you guys say and why?
- Just love that maki! -
Well, personally, I prefer units with the fleet ability, as they're not quite as costly. Which means more bodies make it to melee. The fact the Vultures can deep strike is pretty cool, but since the majority of your army can most likely infiltrate anyway, it becomes less important. I compare them to Kroot Hound packs (which serve much the same purpose), and decide I'd rather have the cheaper, and nearly as fast, hounds.
Where I do think wings are sweet, though, is on HQ units, particularly melta-gun-toting ones. Could be just me, though =D.

If you're intruiged by doctors who are also ninjas, then this is the webcomic for you!
Just have to ask, how are the Vulture Kindred guaranteed a first turn charge? Do they charge 12", or get extra movement besides the wings? Or are you talking about charging from out of LOS?
Because if you put them within LOS, they can't charge first turn, as far as I'm aware.
vultures can infaltrate, but with blood of the stalker they can come with in one D6 closer than normal so if in los 18+ could be redused to 14 or 12 etc. add the 12" movent and the charge and you got pletty of range to charge units.
Prey they don't take you alive
I think Vultures are great, possibly my favorite unit in the Mercs list. Although they're costly, they always get a first turn charge, can be a great support unit, and are a major psychological weapon against the enemy. In ym last game, my Vultures charged a unit of SLugga Boyz turn 1, Ran them down, consolidated into a burna squad, killed them in the opponent's assault, then charged a second SLugga squad and ran THEM down. They killed a Killer Kan next turn, and were still alive with 9/15 Kroot at the end of the game. I HIGHLY suggest using these, they can be vicious iif used correctly.
