    1500 pts - Friendly

Ok, this is the first list that I have ever written for Eldar, I usually play Chaos so go easy on me.

    HQ:
    Avatar - 155pts
Farseer, Doom, Singing spear (Accompanies DA) - 83 pts

    Elites:
6x Striking scorpions(Includes exarch), Shadowstrike, scorpion claw - 143 pts
    6x Harlequins, Shadowseer, Deathjester, 4x kiss - 159 pts

    Troops:
10x Dire Avengers(Includes Exarch), Twin Shuricat, Bladestorm - 152 pts
10x Guardians, EML Platform + Warlock, Spiritseer, Singing Spear, Embolden - 139 pts
3x Guardian Jetbikes, Shrieker Cannon - 76 pts
    5x pathfinders - 120 pts

    Fast Attack:
    5x Warp Spiders(Includes Exarch), Spineret Rifle - 127

    Heavy Support:
WraithLord, Bright Lance, Scatter Laser, 2x flamer - 150 pts
4x Dark Reapers(Includes Exarch) Tempest Launcher, Fast Shot - 192

    Total: 1496 pts

Model Count: 51 Troopers and 2 MC.

The idea for this army is That it forms three separate forces all with their own role. The first force is the Assault Force. This consists of the Avatar, the farseer + DA, and the harlequins. These guys basically advance down the board towards the enemy and help to cover each other. The second force is the Guardians + warlock, Wraithlord, and Darkreapers. The whole Idea is that these units stick together and form a fire base. The guardians will be used to screen the Dark Reapers in the event that something either deepstrikes or gets past my lines. The WraithLord can also help with Counter Assaults if needed. The third force is the Support force. This is made up of the infiltrating scorpions and pathfinders, the Jetbikes, and the Warp Spiders. The pathfinders and Scorpions are their to distract and if at all possible take out any troublesome devastator squads or other shooty units while the Assualt force moves forward. The Warp Spiders and Jetbikes are there to be mobile support for any spot that particularly needs them.

I know the list does not have any armor and personally I like it that way. It basically nullifies all of those Lascannons and other very high strength / low rate of fire weapons.

I'm eager to hear any thoughts!

    ???

I don't mean to toot my own horn...(or double post), but does no one have any comments about my list? I was hoping to get some feedback before I go and spend the money on the models. Thanks!

Ah, to be honest that's because I don't really have any suggestions. Looks good to me. Dropping the farseer to add more harlequins and scorpions to the squads might be good, but then again that farseer does bring a lot to the army.

It's fairly resilient for a foot-slogging army and packs enough of a punch. You have shooting to remove enemy threats to your aspect warriors. A bit light on anti-tank I guess. Maybe a missile launcher on the exarch instead of tempest launcher???

Not a bad list. Not as competitive as a mechanised or all-out guns but I can't see anything wrong with it.

i'd keep the guardians, the reapers and pathfinders in support fire roll but just remove the pathfinders from the guardians and the reapers.

you'll find that with an avatar a farseer and a wraithlord you'll have a lot of fire between them. that wraithlord i'd move into the assault contingent.

but i think that the brightest idea is've had yet is to put another brightlance on the guardian squad instead of the rocket on the reaper. those reapers murder those marines and such, so those shots wsted on a tank it can't hurt for a turn defeats the purpose of the reapers
Ok fellows we have a difficult task, so we have to be more deadly than everyday.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for the response LL!

As to the points you brought up. It spent a good hour juggling points around to get to the list I have. The big decisions for me honestly were where to squeeze the points out for the exarch in the warp spider squad and how to outfit the warlock with the guardians. I originally had 8 harlequins in the squad with 5 kisses but ended up cutting it a bit as I thought points were needed else where. I do feel that I have an "ok" amount of anti tank in the army. I know the avatar and the singing spears are short range but they are there. I have this list slightly geared towards MEQs which is why I took the tempest launcher on the reaper exarch. If I were to focus more on all comers I would definitely change this to a missile launcher so if I absolutely needed to I could take out a tank, otherwise I would use the template missiles.

As for Vulcan, To me the pathfinders are more of a nuisance squad rather than a real fire support squad. Sure they can rend but with only one shot a piece per turn they are not going to be doing a whole lot by themselves. I mostly have them there to try to pick off small heavy weapons squads or try to pin nasty CC squads. That is why I put them in the support force, they help keep the Assault force alive while it travels across the board.

Should I take a standard unit of 5 warp spiders and use the extra points on another harlequin?

Yeah I guess but the wraithlord already has cc power and if he drops the anti-tank guns then he's relying on a single BS3 lance for anti-tank. That's nowhere near enough.

Maybe drop the pathfinders or farseer for some d-cannons for anti-tank??? Or try and shave off upgrades to get a single D-cannon.

    How about this?

What if I were to drop the Warp spider exarch and shave an upgrade or two to give the farseer a jetbike? That way he can really move across the board Dooming where needed and throwing that delicious can opener he carries?

Hey you posted while I was typing, thats not fair.

I don't think your farseer really needs doom. His escorts are generally at 18" anyway so range isn't so much of an issue.

Remember just give various lists a try and pick whichever works best. At least here you have the models your going to buy and its a perfectly feasible list as it is.

I just think it needs a D or Vibro Cannon.

...Lordlink types slower than my grandmother...

    Anyways...

The list is a good one. I can't think of anything to add, except for what Lordlink says. Taking a Vibro or D-cannon battery won't do anything bad to the army. Drop perhaps the Farseer or bikes, since they look kinda out of place. This will seriously compensate for the lakc of A-T in the army

the best suggestion i can think of is trade the scatter laser on the wraithlord for the one in the guardian squad and put a brightlance and EML on the wraithlord its quite a bit more reliable and will allow him to work more effectively as he has a specific role, i use that combo and its one of my few anti tank units and it works great 2 mobile anti tank shots hitting on threes shouldnt be snuffed at.

I doom is great on farseers but what are you going to use it on? you use it with bladestorm and trust me as often as not you'll not have anything for you assault element to charge leaving you exposed for a counter charge...

possibly give warlock conceal it can come in damn handy sometimes if you do need to advance your guardians. since guardians and wraithlord are mobile they can both move and support your assault element and jump in if need be if you were going to do this you wouldnt need embolden (avatar fearless thing) your reapers/pathfinders might be a bit exposed however...
