Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hello, I am not new to 40K, but I am new to the Necrons. I need help tweaking my 1500pt list for friendly play, so your input would be much appreciated.
1500 pt Necron list for friendly play
Resurrection Orb= 40
Gaze Of Flame=15
Necron Warriors 3x10=540
Flayed One’s 1x10=180
Necron Destroyers 2x3=300
Scarab Swarms 1x10=120
Disruption Field x10=40
The Wraith’s will move with the lord and assault targets of opportunity while the Flayed ones will use infiltration during deployment if possible.
I fight allot of Imperial Guard and Tau, with a smattering of Marines of varying chapters.
Any input or suggestions will be appreciated.
Please refrain from posting individual points, for necrons, it's easy, just don't post the war gear prices.
Anyway...Effective for combat. Personally I dislike the scythe mainly because it retards you from shooting another marine dead. The staff of light is a much better choice, it's free with the lord and you get 3 ap3 shots (marine killer). Also it's still a power weapon.Lord=195
Destroyer Body, Resurrection Orb, Gaze Of Flame, WarscytheNot bad at all! A good mass of warriors to march towards any target. If there's termies, I'm sure ~ 30 gauss shots will kill them, or at least enough to sway your opponent.Necron Warriors 3x10=540Fun in combat against low ld models, the think that I don't like is that they're slower than they should be, I kinda wish they had a fleet-like move... oh well, at least you have a full squad.Flayed One’s 1x10=180My favorite! These are beasts! I think/know they're better than flayed ones, they're good at tying up units and killing them (hard for scarabs) and will tear through non-combat eldar, fire warriors, and IG, sometimes space marines. they're fast too!Wraiths 1x3=123Great fire base, however I'd have to say that you should keep the lord nearby to these bad boys, since there will be a lot of shots flying their way...Necron Destroyers 2x3=300Again, great for tying up units, but the d fields aren't as cracked up to be. I'd rather tie up dev squads with them than "clog the engine intakes" on tanks...Scarab Swarms 1x10=160
That's all I have to say for now.

Thanks for the input.
I agree with most of what you say. I may even switch out the WS for the SOL on the lord.
The scarabs on the other hand, when fighting Tau or armor heavy IG is a must. They have killed (in just the two 1000 pt battles I have used them in) a devil Fish, 2 Basilisks and took out the main gun on a Hammerhead. Points wise very effective tank hunters. They also tend to be ignored for the bigger targets.
All in all pretty good advice, thanks.
I thought it should be mentioned that with the two destroyer units, scarabs, and wraiths you have 4 fast attack choices.
Four FA Choices are not legal, so you have to lose one of those Units.
Dropping the Wraiths or the Scarabs is not recommended. Both form an integral part of your army.
I would suggest either to
- drop one Destroyer and the Warscythe and get a Tomb Spyder and Disruption Field for the D-Lord
- drop 2 Destroyers and the Warscythe for 2 Tomb Spyders
- drop 3 Destroyers plus the Warscythe for another Lord on Foot with a ResOrb and a Warrior
- drop 3 Destroyers plus the Warscythe for 5 Immortals and a Warrior
Hate to say it, because it's so stereotypical, but do you own a Monolith? If you're playing against IG it's invaluable and can win you a game all by itself. (Just one Monolith DS against a static IG Army can send the whole lot running screaming from the table)
As a sidenote, don't post unit and equipment points cost. GW is gonna nail your butt to their trophy wall if you do
Not in my game you won't!!
