    2000 pt Eldar Flank Rush

Alright, I've still pretty new to Eldar but after tons of research and reading I've come up with my 2000 point list. The tactic is to have a firing base on one flank to guard and discourage enemy movement into the middle of the field. On the other will be the rest of the army which will engage within the first 2 turns. I'll set up a couple units from the flank side out of place to make the tactic not too obvious, then re-deploy them using Eldrad's special rules and the vectored wave serpents.

    Eldar 2000

    Eldrad Ulthran- 210

    Jain Zar- 190

    Howling Banshees x8- 128
Wave Serpent w/ Twin-Linked Shuriken Cannons, Vectored Engines- 115

Fire Dragons x5 w/ Exarch, Firepike, Tank Hunters- 115
Wave Serpent ww/ Twin-Linked Eldar Missile Launchers, Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines- 145

Dire Avengers x10 w/ Exarch, Extra Shurkien Catapult, Bladestorm- 152

Dire Avengers x10 w/ Exarch, Extra Shurkien Catapult, Bladestorm- 152

Guardians x17 w/ Warlock, Conceal, Singing Spear, and Scatter Laser- 194

    Pathfinders x5- 120

Shining Spears x4 w/ Exarch, Star Lance, Withdraw- 192

    Support Weapon Batteries x2 w/ D-Cannons- 100

    Support Weapon Batteries x2 w/ Vibro Cannons-100

War Walker Squadron x2 w/ Scatter Laser x2 and Shuriken Cannon x2- 100

2013 Points (need to drop 13, how?)

Basically the weapon batteries, large guardian squad, and pathfinders will hold a flank while everything else rushes the other. If you guys can think of any ways to improve this list or drop the extra 13 points lemme know. Thnx

Nice. Try giving it Spirit Stones, they always help and they're pretty cheap. I'd like to see this squad maxed out. Give the Serpent TL Bright Lances. You're lacking anti-tank shooting.

The Fire Pike is unneeded. It has longer range than the melta guns and you want them all in reange regardless. Maybe drop the exarch all together, 6x melta guns is plenty enough for popping tanks. Also, these guys would be better off in a Falcon and by using the Wave Serpent for a Dire Avengers squad.

Lovely. I'd drop the Shuriken Catapult on the exarch. It has less range and will put you in assault range if you want to use it. Go for a power weapon and a shimmer shield. They'll help out a lot in combat if you decide to assault or get assaulted.

I don't like these. Bad BS and the unit size will take up a lot of table area. I'd drop them for a unit of Striking Scorpions.

Fun unit. I preffer 6 so you'll, on average, get 2x AP1 shots and one wound caused by AP1. It helps a lot with wounding MCs, TMCs, and ICs. One wound and you get half points.

Great unit, but it needs support unless you target small units.

I never liked these because the guardians are so frail. A few good shots and you're out 200 points. Though, they are great when used with Eldrad, pushing your opponent's deployment around then moving them to a better vantage point. I'd keep the D-Cannons and drop the Vibro Cannons. The Vibro has no AP and you have plenty of other shooting.

I'd put 2x Bright Lances on each of them. You're lacking anti-tank shooting and 4 BL shaots will do some damage especially if they are Guided.

I don't understand this comment. Why does it have less range?

    Ok, well...
As long as you want a fire base, you are goign to need some long ranged fire to support your flank advance.
I dislike your choice of support weapons. While D-Cannons are great area-denial weapons, they are too short ranged for most fights.
Vibro may have no AP, but it does have a ranged blast template. It's all good, just don't use it on heavy infantry.
Stick some better weaponry on the walkers, B-Lances and starcannons are always welcome. Shruikan cannons work as well. But the B-Lances are mandatory, you are lacking in serious ranged firepower in your firebase.
Dire avengers I just have never liked and probably never will, but they will suit your purposes.
Support your units and guide your firebase, and you have a solid list.

Dire Avengers have Avenger Catapults, which are 18" range, the Exarch will have 2x Shuriken Catapults which are 12" range.

My copy of the Eldar codex says they count as a single Assualt 4 Avenger shuriken catapult.

Alright, here's a list revision. I got a lot of criticism of the Vibro Cannon but I forgot to mention I'm mostly going to be using it to stun enemy vehicles in situations where they can wreak havok on me (such as a predator staring at war walkers).

    Eldar 2000

    Eldrad Ulthran- 210

    Jain Zar- 190

    Howling Banshees x8- 128
Wave Serpent w/ Twin-Linked Shuriken Cannons, Vectored Engines- 115

Fire Dragons x6 w/ Exarch, Dragon Breath Flamer, Tank Hunters- 123
Wave Serpent w/ Twin-Linked Eldar Missile Launchers, Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines- 145

Dire Avengers x10 w/ Exarch, Extra Shurkien Catapult, Bladestorm- 152

Dire Avengers x10 w/ Exarch, Extra Shurkien Catapult, Bladestorm- 152

    Pathfinders x5- 120

Warp Spiders x6 w/ Exarch, Spinneret Rifle- 149

Shining Spears x4 w/ Exarch, Star Lance, Withdraw- 192

    Support Weapon Batteries x2 w/ D-Cannons- 100

    Support Weapon Batteries x2 w/ Vibro Cannons-100

War Walker Squadron x2 w/ Scatter Laser x2 and Shuriken Cannon x2- 100

    1976 Points
I have 24 left, if I could find 8 I'd like to add a couple fire dragons. Accepting recommendations.

I believe the warp spiders are a better choice than guardians for holding the flank because they're cheaper, can fire and not be fired back upon, have a weapon that pins, are less squishy, can kill high toughness/low AV targets. I like the idea of having guardians a lot, I now own some, and would like to use them a lot but it looks like they just won't fit. Maybe a squad of 10 w/ shuriken cannon in cover for 85 pts if I could find the points?

Lemme know what you guys think.

Added: Here's a way I think I can productively spend the points.

    Eldar 2000

    Eldrad Ulthran- 210

    Jain Zar- 190

    Howling Banshees x8- 128
Wave Serpent w/ Twin-Linked Eldar Missile Launchers, Vectored Engines, Star Engines- 155

Fire Dragons x5 w/ Exarch, Dragon Breath Flamer, Tank Hunters- 107
Wave Serpent w/ Twin-Linked Eldar Missile Launchers, Shuriken Cannon, Star Engines- 145

Dire Avengers x10 w/ Exarch, Extra Shurkien Catapult, Bladestorm- 152

Dire Avengers x10 w/ Exarch, Extra Shurkien Catapult, Bladestorm- 152

    Pathfinders x5- 120

Warp Spiders x6 w/ Exarch, Spinneret Rifle- 149

Shining Spears x4 w/ Exarch, Star Lance, Withdraw- 192

    Support Weapon Batteries x2 w/ D-Cannons- 100

    Support Weapon Batteries x2 w/ Vibro Cannons-100

War Walker Squadron x2 w/ Scatter Laser x2 and Shuriken Cannon x2- 100

    2000 Points
    54 Troops
    4 Vehicles
