    Friendly 1250pt Tyranids

    HQ:
    Flyrant
2x Scything talons, toxin sacs, winged, warp field

    Troops:
    5x Rippers
    5x Leaping, 5x adrenal glands (I)

    5x Rippers
    5x Leaping, 5x adrenal glands (I)

    5x Rippers
    5x Leaping, 5x adrenal glands

    Fast Attack:
    16x Gargoyles

    16x Gargoyles

    3x Ravenors
3x Scything talons and rending claws, 3x devourers

    Heavy Support:
    Sniperfex
Enhanced senses, barbed strangler, venom cannon

    Sniperfex
Enhanced senses, barbed strangler, venom cannon

    Total: 1248

I know that this list majorly lacks in synapse, but I thought about making a list that isn't bound by that like many other tyranid lists become. (Hence the reason why many of these units were chosen.)

Currently, the ravenors would deepstrike in while the flyrant leads both broods of gargoyles while the rippers follow closely from behind and the sniperfex's unleash six high strength shots per turn.

Comments and Criticism welcome; though I would like to stay with the idea of next to no synapse in this list.

    Good.

The Adrenal glands won't do rippers much good, pure number of attacks will.

    3x Ravenors
3x Scything talons and rending claws, 3x devourers
If your going to field these, drop the devourers, unless these deepstrike your going to use there fleet roll every turn for that extra D6 distance.

    16x Gargoyles

    16x Gargoyles
I suggest running these in 3 broods of 12ish, you can cover ground quicker and deal with more units at once.

    Sniperfex
Enhanced senses, barbed strangler, venom cannon

I would add reinforced chitin to these guys so they last just a bit longer on the field.

Additionally I would think about running perhaps a Genestealer list if you don't want synapse, they have capability to take down everything and are decently fast. The only thing you have to decide is whether or not to take extended carapaces.

Thats why I said I would be deep striking the ravenors; no need to give them the gun if I planned on wasting all their chances to shoot by moving more.

Ah I missed that, well, likely hood that you kill anything with them is slim, and likely hood there shot to pieces is greater, but its your call.

Heh, well thats the point of deepstriking them in; saves them from getting shot to pieces for at least a turn and they stand a chance of doing some pretty good damage even if they are firing lasguns. (I play in the same area as Dark, so I don't really have a worry in hurting things with marine statlines.)

However, taking away the adrenal glands would probably be a good idea for reinfirced chitin on the sniperfex; revised list:

    HQ:
    Flyrant
2x Scything talons, toxin sacs, winged, warp field

    Troops:
    5x Rippers
    5x Leaping

Looks good, and your lucky that you don't have to deal with Marines or their equivalents.

I 100% agree with everything Path said, but splitting the gargs up is not an option because that would make 4 fast attack choices.

I'd consider making the Raveners a squad of just one, and adding a Lictor maybe. That way, if a decent sized unit wants to shoot at him they'll wast a lot of shots.

I'd also recommend splitting the rippers up ... just because you can, and might force people to waste shots. They're fearless, so small squad sizes won't kill you (a lot of squads won't want a small size because it's easier to make them take brutal morale checks.

    If you notice:

Meaning if he continues with them then:
